Right on the square in Independence. There are a lot of historical tours and sites to visit. The restaurant in Ophelia's was excellent as was The Courthouse Exchange.

Surprisingly nice accommodations and very good restaurant!
This place is adorable! The rooms are above a wonderful, high-end lical restaurant. Each is unique.
The check in was personal and welcoming. We walked around the square for drinks and dinner and ended with a cocktail in the hotel bar.
Such a refreshing change from the normal chain hotels. The staff were wonderful and rooms were very comfortable. Not to mention the restaurant downstairs is probably the best in Independence. The location on the square makes it very convenient for a relaxing stroll in the morning or to visit any of the numerous shops or restraurants. We will make a point to stay here anytime we are in the area.
A little unusual that guests stay at the inn with no front desk staff. Would've appreciated a little more insights on security of the building, emergency contact in case any help was needed. Apart from that, my stay was absolutely lovely. Staff was incredibly friendly and I even got an upgraded room since I was the only one staying at the inn that night. I look forward to coming back in the future!
Was in town for a baseball game. The staff was amazing! very friendly. The room was amazing as well as the food. I will only stay here when i travel to KC from now on.
The staff at Ophelia's went above and beyond for us. I was in town for a wedding and they helped us check-in and accommodated our last-min change to have our dog stay. The room is spacious and really nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. We will certainly be staying there again.
This was one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. Great staff, room was so comfortable and the food at the restaurant downstairs was beyond belief. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. They succeeded. Thank you so much, especially William and Laura.

Liked: Cleanliness
The lighting in the room was rather poor, and the road noise was a bit much at times, but the room was fairly nice. Only one chair was a bit cumbersome for two people. Food at the restaurant was wonderful.
Lovely area, walkable. Lot of things nearby. Fabulous restaurant for dinner. Enjoyed our stay in King suite.
Minor inconveniences: Jetted tub was really loud, and could probably use maintenence. Older building has squeaky floors. Walls are thin and didn't block much noise from room next door.
This is not a B&B. No breakfast provided despite being the second story of a restaurant. Food at restaurant was excellent (had an appetizer and wine when we arrived). The room was lovely and large (we paid for a superior room) but there was no hand soap and no shower curtain (we had to point that out and one was put in while we were at dinner). Too expensive for not serving breakfast. If they served breakfast it would be appropriate for the cost.
The room was fine. The staff was nowhere to be found. I arrived and no one was at the property. Found a contact to text and 15 minutes later the housekeeper shows up to let me and another couple in. Then she wasn't sure who was supposed to be in which room. Finally got it straightened out and settled in. Then this morning, no one to check out with.
Could not speak to anyone before arrival. Called several times as instructed. Arrived on a monday which the restaurant was closed so could not eat at location. Finally someone contacted us from a strange number. We would of never stayed but had no time to make other arrangements. Room was dusty you could see that no one had been in the room for a while. The TV did not work but there was no one to contact to have that resolved.
I will have to compliment the area it is beautiful lots to see and do. We enjoyed the local pub The Court House Exchange and the local Coffee Shop THE MAIN STREET COFFEE HOUSE. Both amazing establishments.
Ophelia's was a lovely place to meet up with an old friend. We enjoyed the kind and welcoming staff, who function both as hosts in the restaurant AND front desk/concierge for the Inn. Free street parking nearby was also a plus. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The bar cart was especially pretty and fun and added to the unique atmosphere. I felt fancy the whole time I was there. Food in the restaurant was delicious too.
What an amazing experience! My wife and I stayed at the Inn to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We had dinner there and it was truly a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for making this a night to remember.
