The staff was great! It’s the room that was not ideal. The pillows were flat and very well worn. The bed was like laying on bricks basically. The morning before checking out I went to go take a shower and there was zero hot water. I even let the water run for 3-4 minutes with no change in the temperature. After paying $386 for one night, I would’ve thought that the amenities would’ve been better.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the entrance, great room, grand ball room & meeting rooms kept in their original state, yet the guestrooms have been tastefully updated with modern furnishings & accoutrements. The historic beauty of this hotel was just unexpected and made our stay so special. The lobby is gorgeous. The intimate bar is very unique and our room was quiet and clean. Although we had booked a King room, the hotel clerk had said they were overbooked and were going to move us to a double queen. His name was Chase and I explained that that was not going to work. He did check his computer and kept us in a king-size room, which made our stay very nice. We will definitely stay at this hotel again and look forward to checking the special events at their entertainment bar in the basement.

The food & coffee at the lobby counter were excellent! Overall the hotel is wonderful and in a centrally located area for low-cost Lyft rides anywhere in town. The one downside of this hotel is the design of the bathroom. There is zero privacy for the toilet, even though it is off to the side (no door). This results in the bathroom being accessible to only one person at a time if privacy is desired.
