4/10 Poor

Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
Upon arrival, the front desk was openly rude and hostile when they saw two Asians with a Black friend, despite our prepaid booking for three rooms. We were given noisy first-floor rooms directly above the parking lot and the entrance—car doors, voices and airplane taking off from the airport in the vicinity kept us awake all night. Rooms smelled of rotten eggs, bedsheets were stained, bathrooms had no shower doors (leaving the floor flooded), and by morning reeked of mouldy garlic. The basement gym was hot, stuffy, and foul-smelling. With the hotel almost empty, staff still refused to change our rooms. I had to pay big tips myself just to get clean sheets and a scrubbed toilet. Unacceptable service and clear discriminatory attitude. Stay anywhere else in Cyangugu.
