Breathtaking panoramic views

The hotel is regal; it is happily situated on top of a hill overlooking the bay and the majestic Sakurajima mountains. The furnishings are somewhat dated BUT the services were remarkably speedy and efficient. The human touch (staff members) in this hotel is no-doubt world-class!

Beautiful Views, Solid Hotel Stay

Great hotel that’s very well known for the onsen and views of Sakurajima (what more can you ask for!). It will be hard to find a hotel location with a better view! The room was nice for the most part. Bathroom was a bit dated and unfortunately had an old tank water smell that some of the hotels in Japan have. Restaurants in the hotel are great although a bit on the pricier side. We ended up getting a gorgeous view of the garden for our dinner there. Family Mart on the 1st floor makes this hotel a catch all for convenience.

One of the best...

This was our first stop for a three week trip to Japan. Couldn't have chosen a better place to get acquainted and get past the jet lag. Excellent service, very comfortable rooms, beautiful views and wonderful onsen. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. The hotel has many restaurants. We ate at one. Overpriced and just all right. There are so many excellent places to eat in Kagoshima. The hotel is on a cliff above the city. Using the free shuttle service was easy and efficient, though you do spend a good deal of time traveling to and from the heart of the city if you do go in twice a day. But totally worth it. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kagoshima.

Hotel is located on top of a hill, with views of Sakurajima. Hotel provides half hourly complimentary bus shuttle to Tenmonkan and train station. Journey can take 15-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Indoor onsen has hot and cold water pools and outdoor onsen has a lovely view of Sakurajima. This was the reason I chose to stay at Shiroyama. Watched sunrise from outdoor onsen on one morning. Service is good.

Very big hotel. Not an easy walk into the city. So you have to plan meals unless you’re happy to dine in the hotel restaurants. But lovely staff and nice rooms. We didn’t pay for a view of the sea and volcano. But still nice city view as you’re high on a hill. Would recommend for the price.

Incredible hotel, for what was presumably an excellent deal. Note of clarification, the room was labelled as "NO VIEW", but we were still placed on the tenth floor and got a lovely view of the rear side of the hotel, with scenic greenery, and a nice contrast of classic and modern Kagoshima. Overall great experience; staff was lovely, plenty of facilities at and near the hotel, and some of them came at quite reasonable prices for more budget-minded people like myself. Would recommend a car as it is quite difficult to walk to and from the hotel to the city or anything central. There is a good bus that runs to popular locations, right near the reception, but it doesn't run very late and has a specific route. Overall excellent experience 👍👍

The property is beautiful and serene. It is next to walking paths. It has great views of the volcano. The onsen is fabulous. The staff is the best!
