This very historical hotel was in a great location as it is situated in downtown. Unfortunately during our trip, Juneau experience record heat so our room was very hot as most places in town don’t have A/C. So not fault of the hotel. Staff was great and kind. Room was clean and so was the shared bathroom. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved staying here and would stay here again, Classic charm built in the 1920’s. Loved the bar next door with great atmosphere. Great location to everything downtown!

The building was certainly old, but after getting past first impressions, we were quite satisfied with the room. For a bed and a shower, it's the best value in town!

The Alaskan Bar and Hotel offers a very clean and comfortable room. As a bonus, it has a genuine Frontier flavor to it; we wondered how many gold prospectors might have slept in our very room! You might hear a little live music coming from the bar, but it seemed to be turned off in plenty of time to get a good night's rest. The location is right amongst the shops, docks and restaurants if you're looking for a fully walkable location.

It is located right in downtown and very convenient if you want to use local transport. We took the room with the kitchen which was really helpful as we could make our own coffee and breakfast. There is noise from downstairs bar on Saturdays but we were on the 3rd floor so could not hear much. The property itself is old but kept clean. Check in was smooth. Would highly recommend if you do not have a car otherwise you can find cheaper places to stay but they will be 35-40 mins from downtown. We loved it here and would definitely stay again the next time we come to Juneau.

Room was clean, there is no ac or fan, but you can open a window. You need to pack light because you have to take bags up steep stairs. I liked we were around shops. And close to everything.

I was only there for 2 nights and that was plenty. I was on a budget and traveling solo. The room was super clean and the bathroom too. The TV worked and that was really all I was looking for. It is in the heart of the downtown Juneau area. It is a perfect place to discover all that Juneau has to offer.

Great vibe. Take note: if you have any heart issues, there is no elevator. You will carry your luggage up and down at least two flights of stairs. No restaurant in the hotel, but it's within walking distance to some really tasty food and drinks.

The Alaskan is the oldest hotel and such one needs to recognize its rustic beauty. Great location and helpful staff. Let’s keep this landmark in place, and in it’s current condition!

This is an historic hotel, which is just what I was looking for. It’s got tons of old world, charm, and a really vibrant and noisy bar downstairs. Things quieted down by midnight and there were complementary earplugs which I appreciated. But you have to know what you’re getting yourself into at this charming location in the heart of old town Juneau. If you’re up for an Alaskan adventure, don’t miss it.

The hotel is historic and right in the middle of town. There are plenty of dining options close by. The hotel is in need of updates. My room had peeling wallpaper and paint. It wouldn’t take much to fix it and still remain charming. My room was also very noisy.

This is a unique place. It has old rooms, steep stairs, small rooms, and a really funky vibe. It has a great location in the middle of town. Those expecting a Holiday Inn will not like this place. But it has soft beds, clean towels, and is an memorable experience. The staff were helpful and helped me carry things up the stairs. My room was quiet in spite of the bar next door. I would stay there again.

This is an old- time hotel. Very funky vibe. No elevator and lots of stairs. Rooms are quite small. But, excellent location, and surprisingly quiet given the bar next door. About the cheapest place in Juneau. You are stepping back to about 1950 here. But I'd stay there again.

The location of this hotel is its strong point. I had a room with a bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The old fashioned radiator in the room kept the room hot with no adjustment. A fan was supplied and it helped. So you are staying in one of Juneau’s original hotels from the gold rush days and it showed. Stairs are wide and steep. One night with earplugs to hide the street noise was fine. I
