Always a pleasure

This is my favorite place to stay in Pretoria. The parking is safe, staff are always friendly, and there are tons of restaurants within a few feet of the hotel.

Constant hooting and shouting from taxis right outside the room. Broken amenities in the room (light and safe), no hot water in shower. Disinterested staff at breakfast. Shabby equipment. And checkin took almost an hour due to confusion on the system. Will not stay again.

Great for a business stay

The key to the room was faulty, so more than once I had to go to reception for assistance. The bath towel was a little small. There was only one cup and one spoon, so I had to keep rinsing in order to make a fresh cup of tea. Only decaf coffee was made available for both nights of my stay. The TV was hanging at a slant. On the up side: the room was cleaned beautifully while I was out. Big plus: the inhouse cafe where I had dinner was really top class.

Air conditioning not working in the room. Used barcode in room to report fault as no phones in the rooms. Called reception amd reported...told that someone would come to sort. No one came all night...forced to wake up at 2.30am to open windows and stand there for 30mins to get some humid air. Terrible experience from the guy at reception who didnt act on thd fault.

Problems with the room

The staff were great but we had to switch rooms 3 times in 3 days due to problems with the room (air didn't work, tv didn't work, power plugs didn't workn etc.). We still enjoyed our stay once everything was fixed. We enjoyed the restaurant and the location.

NEVER BOOK AT CITY LODGE HATFIELD - LACK OF MAINT.

Myself and other business partner rooms were without any working air-conditioning for the duration of our stay. We reported it only to be told that they will see to it, but that never happened. They could apparently not offer us other rooms because they were fully booked. Will never book with this hotel again, very bad service yet you take full payment from my company, what a disgrace you should be ashamed of your service.
