The location was great. The hosts were very helpful and readily available. Tye room was basic, very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended...I would come back!
It was such a delight to stay at Sarangroo, the place truly takes you back in time. It was clean, well-located, and hosted by genuinely friendly people.
Sarangroo was very quite and clean. This place is small and cozy. It was unique experience to sleep on heated floor. My family had a great time and would love to comeback. The owners were very friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Such a charming stay super close to all of the attractions in Jeonju Hanok village without being in the heat of it. My partner & I only stayed for a night and mainly needed a place to stay, but the heated floors made the room super cozy & the bedding was plush and comfy despite sleeping on the floor. Owners were accommodating & let us stow away luggage in their management area while we explored the village throughout the day. Highly recommend!
Great hanok stay in Jeonju. You definitely need a taxi or a car from the train station but once you’re there, the village is easy to navigate on foot. Clean facilities and friendly staff.
Beautiful spot right in the Jeonju Hanok Village! As it is a traditional guest house, you sleep on futons on the heated floor, which were very comfortable! The host is very nice, she welcomed us in and provided us English instructions (as she does not speak English) but it was easy to check in and get our room. Tea and water can be found in the common lounge area, along with maps and guides of the area. 2 minutes walking from the Main Street of the village which has plenty of cafes and street vendors to indulge local food and snacks. Right across from the stay is a beautiful stream that you can walk alongside in the morning with your coffee/tea. Would highly recommend this spot on your visit to Jeonju!
Beautiful and charming traditional house. Lovely location in the old area. Breakfast included.
Room was quite small for three people, once the beds are set up there is almost no space left on the floor. The mattresses were very thin, it’s like sleeping just on a blanket.
We loved the stay. It is a hanok, which means we slept on a futon, but I would not want it any different. The staff let us check in early and stored our luggage until it was time to leave. We received a letter translated to English on our arrival as they did not speak a lot of English. Their understanding of English was better than my understanding of Korean. Prior to our arrival, they also sent us detailed instructions for us to give the taxi driver. I hope to go back some day.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Sarangroo is located near the river bed - facing the main town area of Jeonju. But it is a good place to stay as it is located within walking distance to everything, so very convenient. The hanok itself was fine - the underfloor heating worked well, and the toilet was large enough, and not cramped. However, having breakfast in the open on a cold winter morning just didn't quite cut it. Nothing could be kept hot long enough due to the cold. Perhaps it would be nicer during the other 3 seasons. Overall, still a good experience, but i think 1 night is sufficient.
An authentic hanok stay experience. Even though the owner does not speak English, she was very hospitable and was prepared with English introduction, instructions and a map of the area.
This is our first time staying at hanok house. Property is so beautiful, owner is nice and breakfast is provided every day. Location is also good being very close to hanok village. Please note that futon is quite thin but we got used to it the 2nd night.
The property is conveniently walking distance to the Hanok Villlage. Checking in was very easy. The host and his wife were exceptionally kind and very helpful. We checked out before breakfast was served so we were a little bummed about missing out on that, but overall, I would definitely stay here again.
It was a nice hanok stay with friendly couple manning the place. They helped us settle in well and make it a welcoming stay. The room is very clean and good enough for staying in. The toilet is pretty small, so have to learn to live with it.
