the Harper is a very misleadingly advertised property. My room was really unclean, with a very rank stench that no amount of aircon or disinfectant could remove. The bathroom stank of urine especially after I had a shower, which was very puzzling. There were stains on the chair upholstery, and lot of wear and tear evidence on the furniture, fittings, and floor. the roller blind was broken. the towel hook in the bathroom fell off when i tried to hang something on it. tehre were ants crawling over the desk.
the corridor and public areas were not much better. the lift wasn’t working during the afternoon i checked in and noone could give me an explanation. I took to the stairs and was locked in/ our at the final level. scary!
after one sleepless night I had enough and just fled the hotel and checked into the neighbouring vasaka hotel. same price and a world of difference. i ended up paying double but at least I was staying in a spanking clean room and bathroom without any smells, bugs, or breakages.
I didn’t even bother to ask the front desk for a refund as I had paid in advance through expedia and their level of English was not going to make for a smooth conversation.
