This room is in a historic home in Jackson. Beautifully maintained and very clean. The tasting room downstairs is a bonus and grounds are lovely. I would absolutely stay here again!

It was a neat place. Bed was good. It’s an old place so modern touches weren’t really available. It’s really close to everything, which was great. The shower left a lot to be desired. This room is right where all the outdoor seating is for music, events, etc. so be prepared for people right outside your windows. Still a good place to stay.

Wonderful historic stay

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Orth house. We had tickets to a night at the Brit and wanted to stay within walking distance. We loved this hideaway with its old world charm, lovely wine and even a ghost story. We were also able to walk all over town and didn’t need to drive for 2 days. Highly recommend!

Its almost hard to explain. We were the only ones in the house at night. It was nice, but not a bed and breakfast experience. Very convenient to walking to food and the Britt Festival.

It is a beautiful and historic building. We thought it would have been nice to have a write up of the history of the building and the Orth family. They have wine tasting guests downstairs that are not connected to the hotel guests. It is well insulated and quiet. I did have to deal with some bugs, mainly ants. It wasn't a trail coming in, but they kept showing up in the toilet and mainly the bathroom. I don't believe it was from lack of cleanliness though. The room was clean. Shutting the blinds for the evening was a bit of a chore. Most of the blinds were the type you have to pull down by the base , which was difficult only because someone had been pushed them all the way up. They have an abundance of towels, which was nice. I also like the room entry codes. It is just around the corner from the Good Bean, where we had breakfast. We look forward to our next stay for a concert at the Brit. It is very close for walking.

This was a WONDERFUL place to stay. We were in town for the Australian Pink Floyd show at the Britt. We loved the Orth House so much, it is a beautiful house, it and the staff was so wonderful and accommodating. Felicity was very helpfull with the entire visit, she emailed us instructions on our entry, and getting settled in. She was AMAZING and a total help for us. She was so attentive to our needs and she deserves a truck load of accolades. Thank you so much. Jesse, Moorea and Cali (The Dog). :)

I had a reservation but did not stay - the room I was given smelled strongly of mildew which gives me migraines. I know that vintage properties carry their unique olfactory history but this was different. Maybe a mold issue? The building is beautiful but is gives a boarding house vibe rather than B&B/Inn. The grounds appeared half-heartedly maintained with tools and piles of leaves laying about. The property manager was very accommodating and let me check out a different room (which was already occupied and led to an embarrassing encounter when I entered their room). The pictures of the property and the favorable reviews are misleading/outdated compared to what I saw. I generally avoid giving negative reviews but I wish I had know this before I considered booking. I had to scramble to find different accommodations late in the evening. Kudos to the property manager for agreeing to refund the charges.

I don’t recommend this place. The room was rather untidy and unkept. The floors were in need of vacuuming and a good deep cleaning. There was a lack of basic amenities like Kleenex. There was no staff on property to welcome you, in fact the first glimpse of a staff member was in the morning when a gentleman barged into our room without knocking while we were getting dressed (my husband had no clothes on) to deliver wine to the next set of guests and didn’t realize there was anyone staying in the room. The grounds were unkept. Our view from our ground floor room was stacks of chairs and tables piles floor to ceiling. The yard was in need of a major overhaul and gave the appearance of the Munsters Mansion. We thought we’d give this place a chance but there are so many other options in this quaint little town. Stay away from The Orth House!
