Our 1st stay at Old Capital Inn and it was Wonderful. Reading about the history of the hotel was very interesting and all the Hosts we met were wonderful. The room exceeded expectations in it's size, layout and amenities.

We stayed overnight driving through to our sons. The employees at the front desk were amazing. They were super friendly and easy to talk too. We definitely recommend staying here. The museums and capital being so close is definitely a bonus.

We had a great stay at the Old Capital Inn! Princeton was great at the front desk and bar! He gave us great dinner recommendations and we enjoyed chatting with him at the bar. This is a beautiful, classy inn with so much character. This was a win in our book! We will be back next time we’re passing through!

This hotel is a jewel. It is a beautiful older hotel fully restored with all the modern conveniences. The garden out back was really nice. We enjoyed eating breakfast out on the garden terrace. The staff was friendly and helpful. This may be the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. We also had a place to charge our electric car.

Holiday Adventure

Found this gem randomly searching the internet to be a stop-over on the way to Texas. Amazing stay in a beautiful inn that will now be a definite return destination! My room was unique and elegant, the common areas as well as the outside patio and gardens were beautifully decorated for the holidays. And the breakfast with those yummy homemade biscuits were delightful! Wes and Deborah made my stay complete with their welcoming conversation and excellent service! Can't wait to plan a future visit here and stay awhile!

Great staff. Nice large rooms. Great breakfast and a good price. However there’s not much within walking distance (not their fault, just something to note) and the room I was in the coffee mugs and cups were dirty and I found a cockroach in the room. Probably a one off and it’s an old hotel so comes with the territory I guess.

This was quite a unique property. We loved the room and the outdoor garden. The biggest disappointment centered around the staff. We made a mistake about the breakfast time. Our fault entirely. We arrived at 8:30 on the dot (I looked at my watch) and everything was completely cleared already. Breakfast is over at 8:30. But clearly the staff began clearing before the appointed time. We were kindly allowed to go into the kitchen to help ourselves to eggs and bacon before it had been packaged for disposed of otherwise. But there were no biscuits or toast or anything. One staff person did provide condiments and tableware which was accommodating. She also helped with coffee. We were told the staff needed to prepare for lunch at 8:30am but noticed many sitting looking at their phones after minimal lunch set up this early. Bottles of water were sitting on the food counter so we took one thinking this was available for hotel guests. Went to our car. Coming back in to collect our suitcases, a staff person had been tracking us down to tell us we had to pay $3 for the bottle of water. We explained we did not realize it was not available for guests since there were out on the counter. We did pay upon check out. But clearly this person was looking all around for us. I would not stay here again. I did not feel welcome nor that our patronizing of this hotel was appreciated. The location did not seem near any restaurants, confirmed by the evening staff who checked us in.
