BUSINESS TRIP

Great food. lovely bar & restaurant. Breakfast good as well. Room was spot on. clean etc. I stay away a lot & i have been in some dodgy places. I will be back here, put it that way.

Very enjoyable stay, staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast great. The location was excellent to explore Dartmoor. Would recommend and visit again.

Unfortunately our bed broke, it had clearly been repaired previously- they moved us to another room which was fine. There were a lot of cigarette butts in the ashtrays on the picnic tables ( need emptying more regularly) also dog excrement in the car park! Pleasant staff, peaceful environment.

We stayed for just one night to be in the Plymouth area the next day. Everything about The Anchor, the restaurant, room , the enormous breakfast which kept me going all day, the staff, and of course it's proximity to Plymouth was just what we wanted.

This was a very relaxing stay in a genuinely picturesque setting. Despite being a pub, it was quiet and I was never disturbed by noise. Only downside was I had difficulty getting WiFi in my room but was able to get it in the main section of the pub. Thank you for the caring hospitality.

It is a lovely place to stay. The only thing I would request is a little added choice for a vegetarian who doesn’t eat mushrooms! But other than this will be staying again 😊

Rooms very small. Bed uncomfortable. Outside of property needs tlc. Cobweb's everywhere and generally untidy. Staff were very nice. Breakfast very nice. Very basic but still good value for money

Fine for the money paid

Parking outside the room was great, but the condition of these outside rooms is not the best. It was bitterly cold when I arrived and the heating was set to low which is understandable, but it took a VERY long time for the tiny fan heater to warm the room. The central heating radiators were not working. Neither was the wifi which was really frustrating

Good value stay

Our stay was good, the room was perfectly fine, clean and tidy. Had several areas of cosmetic damage that could be sorted out but otherwise all good. The breakfast was nice but the actual pub is tiny. Hardly anywhere to sit, more like the size of a living room. The restaurant is much bigger. The people were very friendly though. Dog friendly too.

The room is lovely, the staff are lovely but lately the bar has a lack of a few things which is not idea given the rooms have been fully booked. Breakfast is good but granary is not always granary and is basic thin brown bread!

Nice quaint pub/hotel in very small pretty village. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and we parked in the hotel car park but it would have been easy to park nearby otherwise. We didn't book a table on arrival so couldn't eat at the pub that evening, managed to get a reservation in the neighbourhood pub. Enjoyed breakfast, nicely decorated dining area. Staff were helpful and friendly. Couldn't access WIFI but were only staying 1 night so not a problem but we informed staff as we checked out and they were going to look into that/reset router so probably fine.
