I really like the forest view and quiet environment at the resort. The most impressive thing is the food is really scrumptious. No wonder we saw many guests when we checked in. It is a popular hotel even it is located in a remote area.
Great inn in Izu Kogen. Good food, welcoming staff, nice baths, large rooms, and lots of activities (e.g. pottery making, etc.). Only suggestion would be that a few parts of the inn need a very small amount of maintenance. Highly recommend.
What’s not to like about this property. It’s beautiful and brings you back in time. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Already looking to go back. If you’re thinking about whether to stay at this property or not the answer is stay!
We were shocked coming to this place and seeing the standard and our room. We had booked this stay as an original Ryokan experience while in Japan and had decided to pay extra to get a good experience with hot spring and traditional Japanese room. We were very disappointed. The place seems very old and not well kept. Our room was moldy, dark and not pleasant at all. We had booked a room with a small outside area but it had no view at all and was a small grass area facing a wooden fence. All this at a very high cost.
We ended leaving and losts the money for the first night. Luckily they agreed to refund us the following two night. I strongly advise not to book this place.
