The hotel itself is clean, modern, and the staff were generally friendly. However, I was disappointed because before my arrival I specifically mentioned that I was traveling alone for the first time in Istanbul and that having a nice, bright, and safe-feeling room was very important to me. I was told this would be noted, but unfortunately it was not taken into consideration. I also chose this hotel because of the beautiful views shown in the online photos, but my room was facing a dark side street with very little natural light. I understand that the hotel became fully booked, and the staff were polite, but overall the room experience did not match what I expected when booking. On the positive side, the room was very clean and modern.

Good modern hotel

Very good modern hotel all areas extremely clean well laid out decent size rooms with all you need including bottled water daily. Good staff always happy to help. 10 minute walk from the busy restaurant and bar area. Uber works so taxi language problems are removed. Breakfast it good with enough variety for most people I suspect.

We were very happy with our stay. The location is perfect as you are right by the metro station and other hotspots such as Eminönu and Karaköy are within easy walking distance. In addition, the tram station is not far away (Karaköy or Eminönu) and the same applies to the ferry. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, really everyone of them! Our room was very clean and the room service did an excellent job. I visit Istanbul at least once a year and will definitely be back!

Amazing view of the bridge from the breakfast rooftop! The hotel is location is perfectly in the middle of the Sultanahmet and Taksim area although the immediate surrounding area is a bit dilapidated. The breakfast was average. Whilst there were a lot of options each of them were poorly executed. For example the scrambled eggs were extremely watery, and if you come to breakfast within the last 45 min - the food is NOT topped up and you barely have options left. Room is very spacious although "city view" is really just a view of an alley way with industrial businesses. Overall I would stay here again for the price.

The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Tram line and metro however the area around it is all tools shop which at night can get very dark with them being closed. Also there was so much noise and we could hear it even being at the 9th floor. Overall the hotel was not clean and the breakdast was OK.

Nice place to stay.

From the moment we entered to when we left all staff were very helpful and the stay was enjoyable. Rooms were great and comfortable and we even got an upgrade courtesy of the hotel. The location is close to Galata Tower (around 5 minute walk uphill!) and all the usual tourist but far enough to have some peace in the evening.

The only problem is parking

I chose this hotel because it had a parking lot. When I arrived, the staff told me the parking lot was full and I'd have to find another one. This wasn't good. The room wasn't small, and the breakfast was decent. However, since the hotel is located on the roadside, be aware that there will be traffic noise starting early in the morning. Overall, I'd say it's good.

Halich Port Hotel Review I was disappointed. I booked a room exclusively based on the Expedia website, which describes the room I selected as 'Sea View, Sea Facing' (see the picture shown on my booking confirmation). What I got instead was a full frontal view of a tall ugly building, with only a sliver of 'Sea View' on the far right (see picture of the actual view from my room). In my opinion, the discrepancy between the ad description and the truth is too broad. It's an exaggeration that borders on false advertising. The reality is that most rooms on that side of the hotel face a tall building across a noisy, busy street. A more honest description would have been something like 'Partial Sea View' depending on the floor/room. The picture in the website was probably taken from the top (9th) floor of the hotel. Any room below that level compromises the advertised view. My advice is that if the view from your room is an important factor then you should not rely on the advertised photos of the Csk Halich Port Hotel. Before you book a 'Sea View, Sea Facing' room you should do a reality check like this: go to Google Earth, enter the hotel address, and then go into the street view mode of Google Earth. See for yourself what the actual hotel surroundings are before you make a decision to book the room.

8년전에 갔던 터키에 비해 물가가 많이 올라서 그런지 제가 기대했던 4성급의 호텔은 아니였습니다. 3성급 정도로 보시면 될 것 같아요. 방 컨디션 무난하고, 직원분들 친절하고, 위치 매우 좋습니다. 공항에서 버스타면 바로 올수있구요 (한 7분 걷고 계단이 좀 있지만 캐리어 한개정도 끌고가는건 할만해요) 갈라타타워, 카라쿄이, 할릭 다리모두 가까워서 어딜가든 좋아요. 밑에 먹을곳 마실곳 많구요, 슈퍼랑 공원도있어요. 조식이 엄청 다양하지는 않지만 맛있고 10층 뷰가 너무 좋아요. (보스퍼러스쪽과 갈라타 타워를 모두 볼수있다는 장점!) 저녁에 맥주한잔 들고가면 노을부터 야경까지 다 볼수있는데 아무도 없더라구요. 조용하고 좋았어요. 아, 물을 매일매일 1.5L짜리를 주셔서 물 안사도되서 좋았어요. 오션뷰 예약하시는 분들은 유의하세요. 저는 처음에 5층 방을 배정받았는데 오션뷰가 아니라 나무+쓰러져가는 폐건물 뷰였어요. 항의했는데 그날은 만실이라서 어쩔수가 없었고, 감사히도 이후에는 8층으로 바꿔주셨어요 (뷰 매우 굿!) 저처럼 오션의 "오"자도 안보이는 저층 배정받으시게되면 꼭 리셉션에 말씀하세요. 방을 바꿔주거나, 오션뷰가 아닌 방 금액만 내는게 맞다고 생각합니다.
