We had such a lovely stay! A lovely place to stay in the heart of historic Taksim at the heart of Istanbul. Great location with lots to do, restaurants, historic attractions and night clubs surrounding property. It felt just like home, the team at the hotel were very friendly, helpful, proactive and respectful.

I loved staying here. The location was central and in such a great neighborhood. As a solo traveler in my 20s, I felt very safe and comfortable here. The staff were so helpful and attentive. The interior was beautiful, full of character and history. Everything about this place felt special.

The Cezayir Rooms hostel is well positioned, in a centric part of the European side of Istanbul. It is ideal for young couples and people that want to live a good nightlife in the city. The staff is very polite, and available for your needs at, all time! The rooms are ok, furniture is a bit old and the equipment needs a bit of renovation. In our room, the lamps were not completely secured to the wall (one of which was not working), the shower main head was not usable because the button to change the flow was broken, the bathroom door is a bit skewed, so it closes itself... Small things , but definitely fixable problems that are left there since a while, showing a bit of lacking of interest for maintenance. The room was clean enough. Maybe a bit more in depth cleaning of the bathroom would have been appreciated at our arrival (chloride traces on the shower doors, on the tap etc.). On a good note, bed sheets and cloths are very clean and sanitized ! Overall, far from being completely dirty or unlivable. In general we stayed comfortably in the room, but I would not suggest the stay for a family. Walls are not sound proof, neither the windows, and if you want to chill and have a good sleep, it can be hard due also to the nightlife around the area. The building is a beautiful 900s construction, and adds a good style and vibe to the stay. In the end, if we come back to Istanbul, we would choose cezayir again, especially for its position and price! Thank you !

This property is in a great and lively location in Cihangir. Do be aware that there is a fair bit of noise from bars and venues in the area, but manageable if you too are planning to be up a bit later into the evening or if you're a heavy sleeper. The room I was given was beautiful, with high ceilings, nice windows that open to a courtyard and plenty of space. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot and had good pressure. Biggest issue was that the front desk does not seem to be regularly manned. Every time I arrived at the front desk (check in at 10pm, check out at 9:50am, luggage pick-up at 6pm), I ended up having to call the phone number listed on Google maps to receive service. The call was always picked up quickly and someone came within a minute or two, so not a major problem, but something travellers should be aware of, especially if they don't have calling capabilities on their phones when they arrive.

Comfortable, Clean Stay.

The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was clean. The room was a good size and the windows opened to let in a nice breeze. Of course, the room had an air conditioner. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and always had a nice smile on their faces.

Old-world charm with cool twist

Beautiful building inside and out in a really great location for this vibrant hipster-ish area. Very helpful and competent staff. The wonderfully renovated rooms seem to be getting a little bit worn, but I’ll take that over boring any day. Would definitely stay here again.
