We had a lovely, peaceful stay at Hawthorn Lodge Chalet on Arran. It is a basic, practical and functional chalet, but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is very good value for those looking for somewhere simple and relaxing. The chalet is spacious, with a lovely veranda that is perfect for sitting out in the evening and enjoying the surroundings. The hot shower was also very welcome after a day out exploring. The setting among the trees is particularly nice, and the location is excellent for getting around the island, with villages, walks and other attractions within easy reach. The site manager was friendly and helpful, which added to the positive experience. There are no frills, but that is part of the charm if you are looking for somewhere straightforward, peaceful and well located. There is an electric meter, so it is worth being mindful of usage. We were fairly frugal with ours and had no problems. Overall, a lovely quiet base for exploring Arran, with a great setting and everything needed for a comfortable stay.
