Vacations Close To Isla de Pasion

We weren't told about the construction, the elevator to our room wasn't working and we were on the 4th floor. The phone didn't work, the oom that we reserved had leaking a roof in the bathroom, we were locked inside the lobby elevator due to electricity issues. After waiting in the lobby for 4hrs and finally getting into our room, there was no running water. The food was not good and was served cold. We paid $100 for snorkeling photos and have not received them as of yet. This is our 3rd trip to Secrets and we were very disappointed. I feel that I deserve a credit at this point and will not be going again. Have a great day.

We have been frequent guests over the past 20 years! Truly a vacation every visit! Staff is top notch!! From the very caring and attentive bellman, extremely welcoming every time, We have brought our families and our staff several times over the years!! We are always welcomed with a sweet and genuine "Welcome Home" from Abraham and all of the up front staff!! Javi took great care of us each and every evening at the indoor bar and has a great sense of humor!! We hit on some pretty rainy days and the port was closed, which kept us from diving....but the Palace didn't miss a beat and kept us happy and well taken cared of at every turn! Our room was exceptionally clean and the food was great as usual!! We loved the food at all restaurants, love the handmade tortillas and pork pastor in the Mexican restaurant and the very accommodating, very good Asian restaurant, our favorite is the food and atmosphere of Flamingos and the entertainment is always fun. Loved the guitar musicians/singing couple who were there two nights, exceptional! We had room service twice, always exceptional!

The property was beautiful! The staff was fun and energetic. They were very happy to help make the experience wonderful. The beach area was snagging with snorkeling right off of it.

The property was well maintained . What I didn’t prefer was the underlined rules , you have to make reservations for dinner in specialty dinning , if you go one day then you have to wait until the next day to schedule for the following and you have to wait until the deadline for that reservation. It is a place where a lot of diver go because they have a pro international dive shop PADI location on the property. They schedule 1 at 8am and the other at 12:50, which is really nice and if you were like us we schedule for both times - if you want a grab and go snack before you leave like a apple or banana to take with you in the boat - that’s not going to happen, there continental breakfast is all cut up and you actually need a plate or bowl . Which means you can’t have any thing because they will not allow you to bring the plates outside of the restaurant. It would be nice if they would provide whole fruit and or plasticware. Then we return from the boat at 12:30 and leave again at 12:50 - the only place available was the snack bar and again same situation. Finally we returned to the dock at 4:15 -4:30 which that snack bar is about to close but after a day of diving you have a huge desire to shower before you sit down for dinner. And that place closes at 5 - then the buffet doesn’t open until 6pm . There is a mini market across the street you can go to and buy something to snack on in the meantime. Standing in front of staff to order food they avoid eye contact just to not serve

The property is nice, but the poor quality food, the mosquitos, and the evidence of poor maintenance and upkeep stop this property from being great.
