Little gem of a place, very good value. Room was basic but clean, and with a balcony and a view what more do you need? Very warm welcome. Breakfast not included but you can get it in the bar after 10.
The property was amazing, beautiful big shower, coffee machine. Lovely veiw from the balcony. Pleasant staff. Very well equipped. In an amazing beautiful, tranquil location. Can not wait to return.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Like a lot of places the hotel is struggling to provide the services they wish due to lack of staff. They were only able to offer breakfast after 10am and cooked evening meal between 6-7pm. We were made aware of this when we arrived and therefore able to plan accordingly.
Lovely views of the harbour from the balcony.
fantastic sea views - can sit on the balcony and watch the world go by (boats in and out of Marina, the cargo docks at Felixstowe, the ferries from Harwich)
Nice walks along the riverside.
Property is really clean, comfortable with big windows and plenty of light.
Owner really friendly and helpful
Overall a great stay - staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was lovely and the room was clean and comfortable. Well recommended for exploring the area and enjoying a unique sea view!
We were very pleased with everything about the place and restaurant food and staff. Celebrating our Golden wedding, couldn't have been better, tho' the weather could've! 🤗
Very friendly and helpful staff. However, as 'oldies', we would suggest that a 'grab-rail' in the shower would be appreciated. A great deal of fascinating shipping activity to watch from our balcony; a most enjoyable three nights stay. The car park and restaurant/bar on site were valuable facilities. Also, the Breakfast left in our room was quite adequate. We toured the peninsular, and Constable country, also visited Harwich by ferry; and would be happy to stay again. Thank you Alex et al.
The room was good. The breakfast was basic, left in the room, claiming COVID for not providing hot breakfast. The restaurant was operating though lunch and dinner. Staff were not wearing masks.
Interesting location with ship movement in and out of estuary. Weather was hot thus room was hot so windows open meant there was a bit of noise from Felixstowe container point operations during the night. By night two this improved.
Our first two nights there was no resteraunt / bar as it shuts Monday and Tuesday. A bit Marie Celeste! On Wednesday bar management very friendly and simple food menu good and reasonable. Would recommend.
Great place and great staff. Coeliac friendly and very proactive!
Only slight negative is the 10am check out.. although they let me stay to 1030.
All in all lovely and will be back.
Restaurant nice too..
A pleasant stay during strange times. Clean, easy to find and lovely views. Breakfast was provided in the small fridge, cereal, milk, cheese and biscuits etc. Only small problem was 1 pint of milk for 2 persons over 2 days, not nearly enough. We did ask downstairs in the bar and the girl seem surprised we wanted more! But after a while she said she'd spoken to the manager and they said we could have more. Apart from that minor misunderstanding or whatever you want to call it, it was a lovely place marred only by poor weather.
It is a bit out on a limb where it is, but we knew this before we went. They do food in the bar (not tried) but there is also a local pub within walking distance and more further away if using a car. Ipswich a 25 min drive away which has everything you need.
All in all a lovely stay in a well kept room. Very quiet with only 1 other room taken but this made it even quieter I guess!
A fabulous nights stay ..just wish it could have been longer BUT fully booked for following night .
Wonderful balcony overlooking The Marina which was even more spectacular at night with all the boat lights reflecting on the harbour .
Welcoming check in and evening meal good . Breakfast in room fridge due to Covid but very pleasant taken on the balcony in the sunshine .
A thoroughly enjoyable one night stay.
This hotel was all that we expected and more. The decor and facilities were good. The power shower was brilliant. I searched online but could find no mention of tea/coffee making equipment, which they did have. I took my own travel kettle for no reason. The breakfast, at £10 was large and well cooked but too much for us pensioners. A lighter option would have been desirable.
The only downside that I can think of is that the noise from Felixstowe
container terminal kept my husband awake. He is a light sleeper and the port is working 24 hours.
