Safety: 5/5 | View and Beach: 5/5 | Room: 4/5 | Aesthetic Appeal: 3/5 | Food: 1.5/5 At first sight, the hotel is breathtaking, but as you focus on details, the lustre fades. Almost every aspect of this resort has been curated for social media, but when you look closely, true luxury is missing—think dollar-store fake flowers around the swings and plastic fruit displays in the spa. That said, the physical space is incredible and feels completely safe. We had a three-bedroom unit with private entries, multiple plunge pools, and second-to-none views of the water. The private beach is stunning. With only about 35 units on a massive property, it never feels crowded, and you don't have to wake up early to fight for a beach cabana. The staff is also excellent and very accommodating. The major drawback is the food. The resort is isolated about 45 minutes from town, and getting to town is a 70-80 euro cost each way. This essentially makes you a captive audience. The food choice and quality for lunch and dinner are very poor, yet the prices are egregious. The one saving grace is that breakfast is served until 11 am and was definitely the highest quality meal they offered. Right now, it feels like a beautiful photo op with a captive dining trap. If they improved the culinary experience and paid attention to authentic details, this place would be a 5/5.

Wanderful trip

I would like to say that our stay at Hotel Calilo was simply wonderful. The service from all the staff, without exception, was outstanding. They were extremely attentive, kind, and highly professional. The setup of our room was impeccable. Everything is just so, so, so, so good. We highly recommend it.

Awesome Place

Fantastic place, lives up to its reputation. The staff there couldnt have been more friendly, Mike behind the bar is a star and the guys down the beach were very helpful, Alex and Jimmy (didn't get the rest of the guys names) but always there when you need them. Ended up booking some extra time there as is was so good.

Calilo is truly a one of a kind experience. The level of care and attention to detail that is put into the whole property is like no other hotel we've ever seen. The fitness facility is beautifully appointed with state of the art machines and weights. The attentiveness of the staff is on point! Calilo Hotel in Ios, Greece We recently spent two unforgettable nights at Calilo Hotel in Ios, Greece. The hotel’s artistic ambiance and serene atmosphere embody their mantra, “Create a Life you can fall in love with.” Every detail is meticulously curated, from the exclusive, tranquil beach to the unique, cave-like gym equipped with state-of-the-art gear. We enjoyed a phenomenal 9-course meal at Ches, the hotel’s restaurant, which took us on a gourmet tour of Cycladic islands through traditional dishes. The massage we received was the best we've ever had, set in a serene space surrounded by water. Calilo isn’t just for couples; it’s also surprisingly family-friendly, with several families enjoying the amenities during our stay. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring our experience was perfect. Though the price tag is high, it’s worth every penny for the romantic, art-filled escape. We’d return in a heartbeat for another stay at this extraordinary place.

We stayed two nights at Calilo and I honestly don’t even know where to start. This place is stunning. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by crystal-clear water, golden sand, and these incredible cliffs — it’s like a dream. We learned while we were there that it took 20 years to build Calilo, and you can feel it in every detail. The whole property is full of artwork, hand-carved stone, and beautiful mosaics. It’s not just a hotel – it feels like you’re staying inside a gallery blended perfectly with nature. We travel quite frequently and this is arguably the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. We received a complimentary room upgrade and loved it! It had a ‘pond’, which was really a private pool and a terrace overlooking the beach. Just gorgeous! The staff deserves a huge shoutout. Every single person we met was friendly, genuine, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. From little surprises in the room to great tips about the island, it felt like they really cared about our experience. The bar manager and tender went above and beyond - even blending fresh mango just for our drinks! Calilo isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience. We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning when we can come back. If you’re thinking about it, book it. You will not regret it. We will definitely stay for longer next time!

The staff were an absolute disgrace, the manager was not professional in the slightest, i was so disappointed in the food and the hotel was in the middle of nowhere so it took 45 minutes to go to a shop. very expensive for what it is, rooms were not cleaned properly, no clean towels, no hot water and no one to help.
