I recently stayed at your Southport Crossing location and wanted to formally express concerns regarding the condition of the property during my visit. While I understand that occasional maintenance issues can happen, the number of problems experienced during this stay was disappointing and raised concerns regarding cleanliness, upkeep, and guest safety.
The issues included, but were not limited to:
Missing lampshades in the room
The television picture being heavily obscured/distorted
Yellow staining on blankets provided in the room
A strong sewage odor throughout the hallway area
An exterior back entrance that could be opened without a room key, which is a serious safety concern
A bathroom tub that appeared dirty and also leaked water
A smoke alarm that had been removed from the wall, leaving exposed wires visible
The missing smoke alarm was especially concerning from a safety standpoint and should be addressed immediately.
Unfortunately, these conditions made the stay uncomfortable and did not reflect the standards expected from a Choice Hotels property.
I wanted to bring these concerns to your attention so they can be properly addressed, both for future guests and overall property standards. I would also appreciate follow-up regarding this matter and any steps being taken to resolve these issues.
