指宿駅から徒歩だと20分ほどかかりますが、周囲はたいへん静かでゆっくりと過ごせます。今となっては昭和レトロな部屋も風情があります。スタッフさんも大変気さくで親切でした。徒歩圏内に夕食がとれる場所は見つけることができませんでしたので、必要なら夕食込みで予約がベターと思います。午前中に2本ほど、指宿駅経由で砂むし会館へ行けるバスの停留所が、徒歩2,3分の所にありました。
