The Greenhouse (Gróðurhúsið) was marvelous! It’s in the town of Hveragerði, which is a little gem itself. It was a perfect base for exploring southern Iceland.

The hotel is nothing like the pictures. In an industrial park. Rooms are spartan and are hot. If you open the windows , you are ravaged by midges. Bed is terrible. Staff unfriendly. We sweated every night. Food is mediocre at best.
