Beautiful hotel. Large rooms and by far the best hotel breakfast on our trip of 6 nights. New, clean, great food, dinner too and staff was friendly. As we approached, we were reminded what we had read about not judging a book by its cover. Most of the hotels in Iceland (at least where we stayed) were built for Icelandic weather on the outside. The inside was perfect! Lovely and spacious rooms, more so than a few other places we stayed. The room, decor, bath, were exceptional in every way. The hotel was very clean. The shower was amazing. I highly recommend Hótel Laugarbakki.

This was our favorite stay on our 11 day trip. It’s a little treasure of the main road. The staff is friendly and made some great cocktails during their happy hour. Plus both dinner and breakfast the next morning were excellent. The view of the surrounding farms left us feeling safe and refreshed after a long day of fighting strong winds.

Comfortable room, shower water pressure is not very high but at least it's hot. Hotel is very nice and has good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Also a good location to see the aurora if the sky is clear, as there's great visibility in all directions!

Staff are friendly, area is clean, worked fine for our one-night stay. The 4-person room was very strangely shaped, sort-of L shaped with the long part of the L being rather narrow and cramped. One of the beds is in that area and is right next to the curtains. Curtains were not as good as other areas we stayed, we went in June so the midnight sun was in full force and the whole room was awash in blue, which didn't happen with the good blackout curtains in other locations. Beds were still comfortable and as said earlier, works fine for a one-night stay. However, we booked at the same time as ~4 groups or so we were told at check-in, and during breakfast they were clearly understaffed. Regardless breakfast is included and the breakfast area becomes an a-la-carte restaurant in the evenings. Laundry service is available for $40, which is steep but was the only laundry we could get on our weeklong trip. Takes about an hour or two and the clean clothes are folded and hand-delivered to the room. Overall a decent place to spend the night between Akureyri and Reykjavik, which is what we did.

The building was an old school they bought and turned into a hotel. Nicely Done! The lounge/bar is the old auditorium. Big room with plenty of seating and a beautiful old chess board and chairs combo. There is a restuarant serving dinner and drinks. The food was quite good! Waitresses Daria & Daniella were very kind and friendly. Morning breakfast buffet was also good. Nice selection. Met the owners Asgeir & his wife after dinner one evening, very pleasant couple, good conversations. The rooms were good, work desk & chair, seating area. My bed wasn't the most comfortable, for me, very soft mattress but pillows were good. Shower very good. No refrigerator in the room but they did offer to store my food in the kitchen fridge. It was cold enough outside to hang food out the window or leave in the car. 2 Large Outdoor Hot Tubs. Stayed here for 2 nights and got to see the area. I would absolutely stay here again.
