The door was a little sticky, and I have an advertisement that mentioned a washer and dryer and there wasn't one. The property was gorgeous, the view was breathtaking, the history of the home is charming. We loved our stay, and would definitely include it in our travels again.

Very secluded and local cottage stay. The house has a lot of character, some areas need some updates. The grounds are beautiful and I could spend days on them looking over to the water. Fresh milk was delicious, is from the owners farm next door. The house has history, the property was built in the early 1900s!

Schlechte Kommunikation, keine Vorbereitung

The cottage is being kept at a mint condition with easy access from the main ring road. The cottage is well equipped with more than enough amenities and ingredients for us to make a satisfying meal. Love the shampoo and conditioner which is from Soley, they smell absolutely amazing.

Superbe at Bessastadir

Superbe guest house Bessastadir. One of the best stay during our trip around Iceland. We could have spent more days at the house. Stunning surroundings and easy to find and get the key. I will certainly return to this place

If you are looking for an authentic Icelandic home experience, this is your place. It's in a nice, secluded area that is at the end of a long gravel road with lots of sheep to navigate. There are all the amenities of home including a well-stocked kitchen (with fresh milk from the farm), DVDs, and a BBQ. Be warned though, the hot water is malodorous (not unusual for the area) and the towel warmer does not work.

Beautiful location and we had a very nice stay near the beach. Location is easier to find than we originally expected. it was a good stopover point on our trip around the ring road. The beach was nice, but we couldn't figure out how we were supposed to get there and took a very long path. There was a handbook that said it was ok to walk the grounds, but the only map directly states where NOT to go because of the fields, not a good walking path on where to go. Kitchen was well equipped, but the items in it (i.e. pans) were very old and scratched up so we didn't want to use them.
