We received a free breakfast but not a room upgrade (at least to knowledge). We love supporting family owned businesses and it’s obvious the family cares very much about their hotel, dining options and other amenities.

We really liked the breakfast. It was one of the best of our entire trip. Free laundry Decent rooms. Some damage. Enjoyed our stay It does seem like it’s a one man show as the one man checked us. Cooked. Served and did check out the next morning

Excellent location right off the Ring road. The room is excellently appointed - especially the kitchen. There was even an oven! Situated in a pretty area next to a stream - there’s even a little picnic area. I’d gladly book again!

We spent our 2nd to last night here and we were so glad we did. Best beds we slept on in Iceland. Excellent food, room was clean. Had a full kitchen, with fridge ans freezer. Would definitely stay again.

Good stay at Laxarbakki

Nice stay for a couple of nights. Short drive to Borgarnes and 1h to Vidgelmir's cave excurcion. Sauna and bathtub were nice additions. Breakfast was ok and the cost was about 20e.

The elderly couple that manage the hotel are extremely nice and accommodating. We had a long drive and the couple made exceptions for dinner even though kitchen was closing. They also opened breakfast early for us since we had to leave early in the morning. Highly recommended!

Absolutely great. Never expected the hot tub or dry sauna. Also full kitchen setup in room. Dinner here was very good. You have to try the cod stew and rye bread. I will ask for recipe.

We had a wonderful stay here. Arrived much before check in time because of our overnight flight from the US. The staff made us a late breakfast even though the restaurant was closed. They asked the staff to prepare our room while we ate. The room was spacious, clean, and with a kitchen and washer / dryer. Highly recommend! Bvb BB

Rooms were nice setting behind the hotel was pretty with a river. Went to breakfast the next morning we already paid for and no one was there. After 30 minutes still no one. Have a plan b for breakfast.

Excellent property and location! We stayed one night on our return from the north to the airport. The staff was incredibly kind and the room was large and well stocked with everything you could need. We stayed in the family suite and it had a sliding glass door overlooking the river. I randomly opened the curtain and was greeted with the most beautiful display of the Northern Lights. We watched beside the river and it was truly a magical experience. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed one night at this hotel, the hotel is family run & is staffed. They have a hot tub & sauna available as well. The rooms are quiet, clean & cozy. Nothing super amazing about this hotel but decent. The views are pretty good from here as a river runs beside & they have a nice fountain out front. They didn't shovel the snow until much later in the day. Ample parking here for free.

After a long day travel, we arrived early at 3 o’clock, and we’re very disappointed that we could not even sit in a lobby. Accommodations Work great and the staff were very helpful. We were hoping to leave early to start the golden ring circle before the crowds however, breakfast does not start until 8 o’clock, which is a little late for trying to get an early start..
