The room was cozy and very clean with views of the lake. The restaurants have excellent food and drinks with very attentive staff, also the lobby bar is a great place to chill for a night time cocktail. The grounds are gorgeous and was able to spend a relaxing day at the pool. The Windermere is a wonderful get away and all staff are extremely helpful, we shall be back.

This was our second trip back to Windermere House! We really love WH because it has everything we need for a two-night long-weekend getaway: a tennis court to play with my husband, outdoor pool to play with my 6 year old son, hot tub to chill and laugh together, beautiful outdoor surroundings and life music! The only thing we missed this time were the kayaks and paddle boards they had last year. Perhaps they are only offered during the main boating season, which I assume starts around June (I was there during the Victoria Day long weekend). I also love the breakfast! All the staff they are wonderful. We will definitely continue returning to Windermere House!

Every aspect of this property is exceptional. The staff are passionate, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making sure guests are well taken care of. The rooms have recently been renovated, and it shows. They offer all the modern comforts you would expect from a new hotel, while still preserving the classic character and historic charm of the property. My only slight criticism would be the dining room, The Rosseau. While the Pub food was excellent and good value, we found The Rosseau a bit pricey for what we received. Also, I’m a believer when serving iconic dishes — such as steak tartare — prepare them in the way guests would traditionally expect. Overall, though, this is a wonderful property with outstanding service and a beautifully maintained sense of history. We would not hesitate to rebook and yes even eat at The Rosseau. Also try the burgers in the pub! Outstanding!

Our room was overlooking the lake and we were met by no less than 20 deer on the front lawn after we checked in. The pub fare was excellent, and the room was immaculate. We didn't take advantage of any of the spa activities, but we enjoyed two days of relaxing bliss. Lovely property with a lot of nostalgic charm. We spent one full day hiking at Arrowhead Provincial Park which was a short drive away.
