When we come to Hampton inn Decatur every year before heading to Florida. We always enjoyed it this year without notice from Expedia or the hotel. When we got here every floor was under construction and the pool was under construction. A little bit of a notification would have been great. I believe we should not have been charged for this room with the condition of this hotel.

When we got to the hotel they did not have rooms that we had reserved available. The hotel was under renovation and that was not part of the information at the time we booked. We have multiple issues with the rooms that they did provide. Staff was only basically knowledgeable as to how to assist us

They were in the middle of renovations. Our room was done , but the halls were a mess tools and sweeper on the hall. Fitness center was closed. Breakfast was a joke. Not like the other Hampton Inns we have stayed!

When booking, it was not stated anywhere that this hotel was being renovated. Overflowing trash in the corridors, bugs and gnats everywhere. My room in particular had not passed safety inspection to be released for booking, yet they placed my family there. The air conditioner poured water all into the floor overnight and the toilet did not have a water source. When asked for a refund I was told I would have to wait 5-10 business days so it would be easier to move rooms. The room they moved us to was not any better. This place needs to shut down completely until renovations are completed before someone gets injured or worse. At this time the entire building is not up to code/suitable for habitation.

I always try to stay at a Hampton Inn when traveling. Nice amenities and comfortable rooms. This Hampton Inn has been at this location for decades but had been recently updated. The area around the hotel is just ok, but next visit I will most likely stay in the much nicer Madison/Huntville area
