The first room we were offer smelt damp and no hot water. Raised these concerns and was offered a much enter room. The staff were polite and Louise was a pure delight accommodating all enquirers with a smile and cheerful disposition. Looking around the place I can see it is need of some investment, a lick of paint, minor repairs and maybe some safety mirrors so that staff don’t have to shout “Corner” when approaching a blind spot on a corner whilst carrying hot food around. Meal was good value and the breakfast ample. We enjoyed our first stay n Hungerford and The Bear Hotel helped make this a memorable visit.

A real hidden gem!

This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at, and I've stayed at a lot of hotels! We had such a lovely room that had the stream running past the window. The beds were super comfy and the room had lots of plug sockets which seems rare in hotels! It was a Greene King but the food was better than any I've been too and reasonably priced. Service was quite slow considering how quiet it was but the staff were very friendly. The pictures online don't do this place justice, a real hidden gem!

Impressive old coaching Inn in a good location. Nice inside with lovely grounds backing on to The River Kennett. Restaurant prices fair and meal quality was good.
