The Great Wall of China is a dream for any traveler and I feel so lucky to make it there. It is amazing to see the this massive mega structure runs over the ridges of the mountains in the vicinity. Amazing views all over and I'm pretty sure anyone will love this. The effort of each and every person who contributed to create this massive civil engineering construction can be seen everywhere.
The Great Wall. We hiked the unrestored section through to the more restored section. So huge and just goes on as far as the eye can see.

Huairou is a remote area about 1.5-2.0 hours drive from Beijing depending on traffic. If you want to get away from the city and explore a rural Chinese town, this is your place with quick access to the Wall.

It was nice to stay in the quiet little town of Huairou. One small drawback is that there were not many restaurants due to the size of the town. But the one our hosts took us to was very good.
