The room we rented was in the older part of the hotel and required climbing many flights of stairs to access. If you have accessibility issues this could be a problem as the listing indicates there is an elevator, but it is in the newer part. Having said that, the concierge was very helpful in changing our room. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is okay. It is a short drive to old Lucerne. Enjoyed our stay here.

Easy to do self check in. Clean and spacious room for Lucerne. Free parking was a plus. Freshly baked croissants and bread with cheese, hard boiled eggs, vegetables and fruit was sufficient.

The hotel is a less than 10 minute bus ride (#20) from the Lucerne train station and the bus stop is about 100 yards from the hotel. It’s got beautiful mountain views, a comfortable room (#351), a nice sized shower and air conditioning that works great in this heat wave! Breakfast is really good too, but the two things I really liked were the automated check-in (you do it yourself on a tablet and even make your own room keys) and Manuela, the employee I could always find. She knew so much about where to go and what to do and spoke perfect English on top of it. She even helped us add an extra day stay because we liked Lucerne so much! My husband and I would definitely come back!

Great location, poised to access downtown Lucerne, but with free parking and a nice complimentary breakfast. Being a boutique hotel, there was very limited staff on-site … including a self checkin and checkout system. Two buildings were combined to yield this hotel, and as a result there is a weird descending / ascending small step transition zone in interior halls between them. Our biggest issue was traffic noise. We had a front corner room, and without AC, had to keep the windows open for comfort (including while sleeping). The road noise persisted though the night and was distracting even with ear plugs.

I was a little concerned about staying outside the Luzern city centre, but the transit was SUPER easy. The hotel was clean and modern, very comfortable. We didn’t get to try the restaurant, but it looked quite good. Included breakfast hit all the marks. Pleasantly surprised by this unassuming little hotel!

Very good hotel with so so breakfast

Very clean room with daily service, modern and comfortable. Good restaurant, with good food and drinks. Only minus one star for breakfast, it was small choice of food even no scrambled eggs, and offen empty/almost empty plates with ham or cheese, hotel needs to work on it. In this price i expected way more better breakfast.

Clean, updated and super easy transportation into Lucerne (#20 bus) boats, train station other bus lines. Would have been nice to have a mini microwave in room but still ok. had great views from our second floor room of the Alps. Staff was excellent, Samuel is THE MAN for everything. Breakfast is not traditional American style but more than ample. Cold cuts, cheeses, breads, yogurts, excellent coffee choices, pastry and fruits.

lovely little hotel!!

Took a family trip, stayed here for a few days. It's a smaller hotel but provides a more intimate feel. We got a larger room to sleep three people. A large soaker tub out in the open (not for anyone who is shy!). 2 minute walk from a bus stop and about 12 min ride down to the main area/train station. The breakfast was amazing! Delicious and plentiful!. One unfortunate thing was the room we were in had a sloping ceiling that came down low and I smacked my head off the stucco twice, left a scrape on my head...also found it a bit weird that there was a small sliver of glass that allowed someone on the bed to see the person showering, and nothing the person showering can do to prevent it except fog it up. Other than that, great, quaint, and unique hotel, very much enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed staying there. The highlights were the good breakfast and using their bikes for a day. Also, the train station is only a few walking minutes away. The room was a bit small, and there was no fridge. Traffic was heavy, so we needed to close the windows at early in the morning. But overall, the experience was good. We would come again

Boutique Hotel Waldegg (Lucerne/Horw area) – Decent stay in a quiet neighborhood with solid transport links, but limited on-site support can be frustrating. We found the hotel to be a decent option overall. The room was quiet and the surrounding area peaceful, yet still close enough to public transport for easy access into Lucerne. Breakfast was good, though we wished for more variety from day to day and a toaster (or toaster oven) for the breads. One notable drawback is the lack of a reception desk or readily available staff to address issues during the stay. We requested a room clean and fresh towels on day 2, but it never happened. Our AC was also making noise, and with no one around to help, we just had to live with it. Still, if you’re looking for something in a nice, quiet neighborhood rather than the busy city center, this is a solid choice. Just go in knowing that service responsiveness may be limited once you’re checked in.
