My husband and myself stayed The Kahala for our honeymoon and it might be one of the nicest resorts I've ever had the pleasure to stay at! The Kahala is located in a residential neighborhood about 20 mins from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. This could be a negative for some, but I really enjoyed how quiet and secluded the hotel was. If you are someone who wants to be in the center of the city though this wouldn't be the resort for you. All of the staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The valet would always address us by name when we left or returned, the pool staff were always ready to set up your lounge chairs at the pool or beach, and the front desk went out of their way to help us celebrate our honeymoon. The front desk manager even sent up champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries on our first evening to as a celebratory gift for us! We initially booked a ocean view room, but upon check-in we were offered an upgrade at a reduced price to an ocean view front room. We decided to go ahead with the upgrade and I'm so glad that we did! The view from our room was phenomenal! We could see the ocean, pool, and part of the dolphin lagoon. The large 550 sq foot rooms are very spacious and the bed was super comfy! The bathroom is large as well and is split in two, vanity/sink and bathtub on the right and vanity/sink shower on the left, which is good as it allowed my husband and myself to get ready at the same time. I loved the Kahala hotel. The beach is beautiful and the restaurants I tried were delicious. The room I stayed in could use a bit of an update but very clean. The bed and linens were very comfortable. I would go back anytime.

Great location close to downtown Honolulu and yet far from the crowded Waikiki beach. The resort is located on its own beach, which is technically public, but not crowded at all. We stayed in a beach front room, which meant that we could just exit the room and be on the beach. Beach lounge chairs were provided by the property. The resort also features a lagoon full of domesticated dolphins which you can book an encounter with through Dolphin Quest - a truly amazing experience. Overall, definitely my favorite resort in Honolulu by far.
