This was such a beautiful old property in amazing condition. Lovely furnished bedrooms, lovely breakfast in a beautiful dining room and extra touches such as chocolate and port in the evening. Close to some great restaurants and Wrest point Casino

Wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings and superb heritage accommodation. Breakfast was an unexpected surprise with Continental European style food which was second to none. Definitely a must stay in Hobart and we will be back for sure. Love the complimentary port and chocolate. That really capped off a wonderful evening.

The Rivulet was very convenient for our first night's stay in Tasmania. We were headed to the West Coast and the hotel provided a comfortable night and a welcoming breakfast for us the next morning. We would definitely stay there again when in Hobart.

Excellent accommodation.

Very comfortable, pretty quiet, excellent breakfast included with very amenable service. An evening glass of port put the icing on the cake. Little to fault it except on the expensive side.

The Rivulet was a beautiful property with all the amenities for a short stay in Hobart. We loved how close it was to battery point and the Salamanca market. Though we drove we loved taking cheap Ubers to dinner at de Angelo and to the Salamanca market in the morning (which the staff were kind to let us stay parked through though we had already checked out). The Ubers saved what we thought might be difficult weekend parking in town. The breakfast in the am was also delicious with kind service and nice conversation with the other guests. And the cherry on top were the cozy robes provided! We would definitely stay again!

Easy check-in. Seems to have changed staff or owner, as standards have slipped. After a full day and evening out, we returned to find lights and heater off (as we left it in the morning to conserve energy). Bedding unchanged, cups unwashed, everything much as we left it. This is the first time this has happened during our previous stays. We were not aware room service was not available after first night. Breakfast cloth placemats and serviettes on both mornings were placed neatly in cabinet drawers after people had used them, leading me to question whether they were being washed between use. Breakfast staff efficient at cleaning up to the point you are made to feel hurried while dining, the small plates removed when you intend to get something else (bare minimum plates are put out). Such a shame as this is a beautiful accommodation, in a convenient location and we have always enjoyed our stays in the past.

Nicely converted old home, ALMOST excellent.

It was a good stay, in a converted fine old Sandy Bay homestead. Despite being right on the very busy Sandy Bay Road right opposite the Casino, it was very quiet — the windows must have been double-glazed. The mattress on the bed was comfortable but it was too short for two tall people. Though mention was made to the balcony, the room/front door key would not open the balcony door so it was impossible to access. The whole property had been very tastefully converted as a b&b, and fittings were all modern and in good condition. A criticism was the lack of milk in the room, having to negotiate steep stairs from the Guest Scullery with a jug of milk was fraught.Even though the property is remotely managed, breakfast was very good. It was that rarity in Australia, not just cereal and toast but a "proper" Continental breakfast with fruit etc and cold meats/smoked salmon as well as toast and croissants. To be fully authentic it lacked only boiled eggs. The young woman in charge of it was quietly attentive and everything was very well presented. A good start to the day.

Very well presented room, spacious with huge bathroom including a bath and some goodies offered. Only reason not 5 stars is because housekeeping missed areas of dust and a few other things not quite right with the room, ie light switch broken, noisy bathroom fan and one electric blanket control did not work. Very nice breakfast, but we are not fans of 'en famille' dining.
