Looks can be deceiving. The outside looks old but the room we stayed at was modern and clean. The added picture of the room was before we checked out which is why it looks messy. We would stay here again in the future.

During our stay at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Hinton, we had originally booked for two days. After the first day, we had to cancel the remainder of our trip due to a family situation. We requested a refund for the unused night, and the manager was very understanding and kindly processed the refund. The staff were very helpful, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. We greatly appreciated their compassion and excellent customer service during a difficult time. Highly recommended.

The desk clerk was so nice, the room was beautifully renovated. We really appreciated the breakfast that was included (which was prepared by the really nice desk clerk from the check in) this is our new favorite hotel in hinton

The room was clean. The breakfast was good. It did not have fruit juice/fruit, but had every thing else you need for a breakfast. The laundry was washed in a very fragrant detergent, which was the biggest downfall for us!!! No hair dryer. Had a fridge and microwave which was handy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The outside of the building needs some TLC, but the rooms were nice!

The Good: very friendly and helpful receptionist - Catherine and other room service staff, spacious and very clean, newly renovated rooms and clean bed/linen. Good price, decent breakfast spread. The Bad: the bathtub was choked and they didn't have maintenance person till 8:30 am to fix it, despite telling them I had to take shower and check-out soon, the available staff didn't bother getting a plunger and doing it themselves, and they didn't have any spare room which they could swap me in or let me use the bathroom - they offered employee washroom! While I understand given the remote location maintenance staff is not available on call, but I would have expected better emergency handling than this by having a spare room or existing staff helping. Also the location is too far, takes 1hr / 80km one way drive to Jasper town, not worth wasting vacation time and fuel to save on Hotel. Next time I would rather book a hotel in Jasper.
