We had the ocean view room on the second floor. It was newly renovated, with a beautiful private bathroom and beautiful wood work throughout. We were a bit spoiled when we were there, since there were no other guests on our floor during our stay. The kitchen and living room were spacious and well equipped, and Josh was always there to help us if we needed it. We would definitely stay here in the future

What’s not to love - a comfortable bed, a big room with an ocean view, a rocking chair on the balcony overlooking a paddock of goats and sheep with babies. The kitchen was well equipped and the hosts are friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend Magic Skies and would stay here again.

We had a good stay at Magic Skies. The property seemed to have a nice atmosphere with the different spaces and room themes though there were some areas undergoing maintenance at the time of our stay. We didn’t end up having the breakfast service offered but it seemed reasonable. Though overall was an enjoyable stay with a good location.

The property is amazing with beautiful views. The host is very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned before us. There was still hair in the drain that was not ours and cobwebs in many corners. BUT we would absolutely stay here again because it was wonderful!

Staying here was amazing! Every morning we woke up and saw the sunrise from bed. The room was clean and had A/C. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you need. Coffee was supplied( but you need to buy sugar). It was fun to sit on the porch and watch the baby animals play. It was such a beautiful home. Lots of space to spread out. It was only my husband and I but I want to take all our kids and families with us next to to enjoy this beautiful space.

This place is like walking into heaven when live the go, go, go lifestyle! Riding around with Sue on Gator feeding the animals was so therapeutic! It’s hard to describe, you have to go and stay to feel that sigh of relief from stress the minute you walk in the door. Kevin is up feeding fishes in the morning and educated me on different types of Koi, especially the one that looks the Japanese flag. He also designed and built the woodwork in the house.So much love, thought and precision was put into this heaven. Sue did all the decor, and it’s beautiful! Big only complaint….I didn’t stay long enough!

We had a very enjoyable stay at this recently opened property. The hosts were attentive and responsive, and they were kind enough to share a dozen fresh eggs with us! The home was just north of Hilo, easy to find, and a convenient location for our trips to Volcanoes National Park and Mauna Kea. It would be a great place for a larger group, as there were three bedroom suites on the main floor with a very generous living area and lanai. We particularly enjoyed watching the farm animals and the beautiful sunrise over the ocean. I didn’t love that our space did not have an en suite bathroom - the bathroom had a slatted door and was right next to the shared kitchen, so if the other guests were using the kitchen, there was not as much privacy as I would have liked. Otherwise, our room was comfortable and quiet, and it was a great start to our first visit to Hawai’i.

Beautiful hotel.We noticed a great deal of attention to detail.The animals were wonderful.Setting was peaceful.There was one issue.I asked the day before arrival if I could check in at 2 since we had an excursion starting at 4.Josh was at a graduation but we called him and he was able to give us the code.We dropped off our things and left.We returned at 11 pm and noticed the room had only 1 bed.We registered as a group of 3.There were only 2 towels.I didn't want to bother anyone so late so my son slept on the floor and we roughed it with the towels.Next morning we left early.I texted Josh and asked why the room was only set up for 2.I mentioned the bed and the towels.His reply was that there was a rollaway in the LR.I texted back that I was disappointed that the room was not ready for us.No reply.That evening we were sitting in the LR and Josh came in, introduced himself and wanted to know why I was disappointed.I repeated the missing items.He got very defensive and said it wasn't his fault and I shouldn't have booked that room.I told him the website said it slept 3.He kept repeating it wasn't his fault.He didn't know we were 3 people.He blamed the owners for not telling him.He blamed me for coming when he wasn't there. He was upset that I came in late that first night.He was concerned that I would give him a bad review.He walked away in a huff.Later I texted that an apology for the mixup would fix the situation.No reply.So the missing stars are because you couldn't say sorry

It was clean, organized, high-value, and that's just scratching the surface of how superlative this place is. I loved it here. It's a work of art. The hosts are gracious, generous, and treated me like a friend. From the custom-made-stonework-tree-lined welcome to the koi pond bridge entrance, from the clean, soft beds with a myriad of pillows to the massive, fully-equipped kitchen, it was an exceedingly positive experience top to bottom. The Hawaiian sunrise and hot tub mornings led to chopping open coconuts before walking to the local Honoli'i beach. Great views and being on a farm enhanced my goal of reconnecting with nature while on vacation. The place is a reflection of the owners, Kevin & Sue, and is imbued with their artistry and hospitality. I was in the Surf's Up room this time and I'm looking forward to another visit.

What an incredible place! Our room was clean, comfortable and well devoted. The attention to detail from the game room to the Coy pond made this one of our favorite places to stay. The view of the ocean is lovely.

This place is beautiful and charming. My self and my two horn h children stayed on the first floor in the large suite with two beds and a pull out futon. Unfortunately, the entire third floor was rented out to a family who were extremely loud. The children continuously ran around the floor and one evening the family had a party that was completely out of hand. I think the children were rolling pool balls on the floor and bowling with them. It was awful. Complaining did not cease the noise, although Josh tried and it continued for several more days although not quite as bad. I asked for a refund for some of our nights but was denied by the owner. We ended up leaving Hawai’i a couple of days early due to this choice of lodging. We also did not have access to the game room or art studio which were two reasons we booked the place. The futon couch was also horribly uncomfortable. We were all very disappointed and will never return.
