The town and the inn were beautiful! We had dinner at the tavern connected to the inn. Then we walked to The Creamery (delicious). The room was very nicely done and had little extras (popcorn and candy from a local business). The whole place seemed like a Hallmark movie inn. Definitely stay there again!
Very cute boutique hotel in the downtown square. Clean, updated rooms.
Rooms come with local coffee, candy, and popcorn from shops just steps away from the hotel.
Room was very clean and lovely. The staff were kind, willing to help and share information about the hotel and renovations. One issue, my room was too warm, and I could find no way to cool it. I definitely would stay again should I find myself in Hillsboro.
This is an old hotel in the center of town that has been totally renovated and looks great. they also have a restaurant and brewery downstairs with great food and beer! The Hillsboro downtown is quaint and the location is perfect. They had a nice touch in our room with snacks and coffee from local shops. I would definitely stay again.
Have stayed at The Red Rooster many times over the last 40 years. Love the beautiful restorations to grand old place! Bed was comfortable and enjoyed the early morning Sunday church bells. Hope to stay again sometime next year.
This is a one-of-a-kind property. My room was perfect and attention to detail was amazing. The cleanest and most comfortable room I've every stayed in.
The Historic Red Rooster Inn was a destination! It has been beautifully renovated and updated. A great deal of attention to detail and much love has been put into the property. We loved the bar/restaurant as well. The game room downstairs offers all manner of entertainment. The owners and staff were wonderful and kind. It is difficult to convey with mere words how much we enjoyed our stay and sojourn in Hillsboro. We strongly recommend anyone looking for a country getaway to reserve a stay at the Red Rooster Inn! Well worth it!
Stayed here while i was heading to St. louis for the NASCAR race. this place is beautiful, the whole town is. I will be staying here from now on whenever I'm in the area.
We were dissapointed that nothing for breakfast was available. It is advertised as a B&B, but there was nothing to eat. No one around to ask any questions.
The hotel has been refurbished from top to bottom. It’s a beautiful historic building. The owners were meticulous in keeping the history of the hotel and adding all the modern conveniences. The room was relaxing and had wonderful amenities. Microwave, fridge, coffee machine, tea, and sweet treats. They use local vendor products from businesses in Hillsboro. The restuarant/pub serves delicious meals and a fun spot to socialize. I would definitely recommend staying here. The location is in the heart of Hillsboro which is a small, friendly community
We were in the area researching family history and visiting my mother's hometown nearby. We no longer have a place to stay there, so I thought it would be nice to stay in another older house. This is definitely an OLD property, but lovingly restored. Rooms and beds are smallish, but very clean and comfortable, with all mod cons like air con, good WiFi, kitchenette, etc. plus extra touches like local products for snacks, coffee, and toiletries. The restaurant and brewery on the property is excellent; other dining options are limited, as it's a small town. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. The front desk was never staffed, but the owner was very helpful over the phone when we had difficulty working the lock codes on arrival at night. I suggest that guests with mobility issues book a first floor room--stairs to the second floor are steep.
