The location of abbey lodge was great, only a few minutes walk into town. Handy for restaurants and shopping. It was a short drive to get to the rural areas which we enjoyed walking. We booked a twin room which was much bigger than the doubles we saw. It was bang for your buck!

It is perfect for the price! Amazing hot shower, brilliant white bedsheets and comfortable bed. When you are tired after work the rest is a history. Large car park.

Comfortable, clean and Warm a nice B&B

Perfect location, gentle walk into town, lots of restaurants to eat at within minutes. Room big enough and certainly warm, clean and presentable. The shower was amazingly powerful, and hot water didn't take an age to come through. Nice car park round the back, with on street if that was full. For what we required is fitted the bill exactly.

Good stay

Super experience. Free parking, friendly person behind desk Easy access late at night as attendant on at all times. Beds very comfy. We didnt have breakfast, but not sure what there is. Great stay.

Abbey lodge

Basic reasonably clean and good value for money the breakfast was much more than I expected a good range and good amount coffee was excellent bacon rolls fantastic staff were very polite and let us keep that car there for an extra hour after stay was finished all in all good for a basic stay

Property looked tired and in need of some refurbishment and a lick of paint. Room was clean and decent for the amount however the window was broken. Thin walls such that one could hear other guests in the corridor and nearby rooms. The whole hotel had a strong smell of cigarette smoke from the moment.you walk in all the way up to the rooms...this was really off putting. Management should consider a dedicated smoking area. Overall, not bad for the amount paid and for a night's stay. Basic breakfast provided and access to a microwave available.

A pleasant stay

I was really pleased with my stay at Abbey Lodge, the staff were all very helpful and I was able to park and check in earlier than expected and able to leave my car until after check out hours which was a massive bonus. The accommodation is basic but was comfortable and had everything I needed, the stay also included breakfast which was well stocked and there was plenty of choice.

Terrible place to stay.

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night. No lock in one of the rooms requested another. Dirty and stinking carpets. The whole corridor stinked of cigarette smoke. Terrible bed and pillows. Did not sleep at all. The pics shown are dosnt evn come close to the actual state. The sas part is I booked seeing the images put upon hotels.com which are not even close to reality
