-ve: Self service to replenish towels, ants get into your room, +ve: restaurant and cafe staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is comfy in winter conditions.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bar was nice, the pool area, and the sunset times with live music were amazing. They should have more activities to explore the place, not just once a day, such as a kayak tour with only 5-6 spots available. Breakfast was expensive, lunch was delicious, but dinner was buffet only, and the food was 6 out of 10. I found a cockroach in my bedroom as well. I booked the submersible boat, which was broken when we arrived for embarkation.

Beautiful island and incredible friendly employees. However, no one was around to ask questions. We weee told multiple times that things weren’t available because the resort only had 50 rooms books. It was very frustrating because we DID pay a lot to be there and to have services cut was unacceptable. We were told. We couldn’t take food or drinks, but food wasn’t available much of the time. Additionally, the resort is very run down and needs updates.

We liked the island. Most staff was friendly. Appreciated the towel exchange. Booking for certain times at the one restaurant was limiting. My biggest suggestion is the room quality. Bathroom cabinets wood splitting. Furniture very worn out and wobbly.

Coral bleaching makes the lace a bit unattractive if you want to see coral. Our visit was marred by High winds which churned up the water and limited visibility when snorkeling. Got to see turtle hatchlings march to the see. We first came in 2012 and it was amazing. Now 12 years later the rooms are clean but show their age. Beautiful birds but expect to get poo dropped on you as they roost often over the walking path. There are complementary guided nature walks that are worthwhile taking.

This place must have top stars for the fantastic nature experiences around the island, which perhaps also offsets the fact that the hotels themselves are totally run down, dirty and the food is far from worth writing about. You pay for a 5 star stay, but get what amounts to a less good old fashioned motel. So if it weren't for the fantastic nature, you would feel cheated. The staff did their best, even though they were totally understaffed

Amazing family wee stay, 2 days in paradise!

This island is amazing!! Wildlife galore! We came for the sealife sharks, turtles and fish etc and it didnt dissapoint! Birds are everywhere... if you like birds this island is good for bird lovers! The ferry over - booking went smoothly. Parked car in carpark opposite paid for but secured. Was choppy crossing but staff were helpful and always checkjng the kids were ok and not feeljng sick etc. Room- we went with 2 bedroom beach room. It was great view onto beach, spacious. Basic room with all what you needed. Room had a celing fan not aircon so was hot but its a 3 star property. Staffing- staff all over island we felt were friendly and helpful. Always happy to hear we having good time. Big shout out to 2 guys the man siging in bar was ace and deserves a mention. Also our turtle tour at night was brilliant. Tour guide was great loves his job! Wildlife - wow we seen so much. Just standing in paddling water and see sharks. Meals - we were quite happy wjth the food overall. Breakfast was a good selection, plenty to pick from. Lunch could have done with smaller lunch snack type food menu. Diners- both nights we had rhe butter chicken as was so good!! We found it ok priced too. Few reviews werent happg wjth the cost of buffets... i think they changed it now and its a menu instead buffets. Nice pool area. Free boardgames and pool etc in the bar. Defo recommend this place and hope to be back again!!

A beautiful island Holiday

Heton Island Resort was actually better than we expected. Most things were expensive an not a big choice. The highlight was the snorkelling and diving which was the best anywhere.

Relax e ritmi naturali in un'isola paradisiaca

Su quest'isola si va per staccare da tutto e ritrovare una dimensione più naturale e umana. Questo resort immerso nella natura non è da considerarsi un resort 5 stelle come siamo abituati a pensare ma un posto a 5 stelle per quello che la natura offre. Il tutto è quasi paragonabile ad una esperienza in un bungalow in un campeggio, ma se consideriamo che siamo un una riserva naturale questa fortuna non ha prezzo. È questo il suo grande valore... This is an ECO resort. Don’t come here if you want a luxury resort experience. Come here if you want a truly unique wildlife experience. The island is teeming with birds and surrounded by marine animals. You don’t even have to get in the water to see turtles, sharks, rays and fish. You can stand on the jetty or watch from the beach and you will see something amazing. You can snorkel or dive to see more. This is Australia’s version of a mini Galapagos. The resort balances guest comfort and aesthetics with budget and ecological sustainability. If you want 4 or 5 star aesthetics, this is not your place.

The property was a true island getaway. We didn't have internet, phone, or TV. We could move around easily and on a relaxed state. There is only one restaurant but the food was very good. Elliot was the activity director and he was incredibly knowledgeable . All the staff were lovely. We had a room without air conditioning but found the fan quite sufficient .
