We spent two nights at this beautiful, over the top, Victorian. The owner, Colleen was great. Easy walking to the St Helena Cathedral, state capital, and downtown restaurants.
Colleen is a wonderful hosts and her guesthouse is a beautiful and welcoming place. Our suite (the Rankin room) was warmly inviting and very romantic; just what we were hoping for! Great, comfortable queen bed!! Would highly recommend this lovely B&B!
It was clean, comfortable, and cozy. It feels like a home away from home. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. It is clear that a positive guest experience is a top priority.
Breakfast is incredibly delicious! AND this Bed and Breakfast is centrally located near a wide array of amenities. These 2 features are the icing on the cake that is Carolina Bed and Breakfast. I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing a place to stay in the area…especially if a convenient location, personal touch, and a homey environment are priorities.
In all the best ways, my stay was unlike any other lodging experience I have encountered.
The Carolina is a lovely 118 year old home that is owned and run by a very personable woman. The king size bed was very comfortable and bedroom and attached bathroom quite large. The location is marvelous and within walking distance of several wonderful restaurants.

Excellent bed and breakfast with beautifully appointed rooms. Colleen is a first class hostess who makes guests feel very welcome.
Loved this house and what Colleen has done with it. She was a wonderful hostess and is an excellent cook. Would highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast.
This bed and breakfast was so cute. Right by downtown in a lovely neighborhood. It might be nicest place I have ever stayed. Way better than any hotel.
The Carolina is absolutely gorgeous and Colleen is such a lovely hostess. We stayed the night after our wedding and it was so luxurious and cozy - and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I'm already plotting another little staycation there.
From the minute we arrived and were enthusiastically greeted at the door by Matt we knew we made the right choice. The house was unbelievably charming with such attention to detail. It was like going back in time … with all the conveniences of today! Delicious breakfast, walkable to great restaurants, we’ll be back for sure!
We had a unique, comfortable one night stay. Our room was old school glam, the entryway was lux and pretty. We enjoyed tea at check in, and in the morning enjoyed a fabulous breakfast cooked by the hotel owner and eaten family style with other guests. We enjoyed talking to everyone, it was a highlight of our stay. We would stay here again.
Arriving at the Carolina was like coming home. Colleen is one of the most welcoming and kind hosts we've ever had the pleasure of staying with and I felt like I'd known her all my life. She graciously and without hesitation switched our room when we discovered our bathroom was adjacent and not ensuite. We were within blocks of the historic downtown and 2 blocks away from Benny's, a fun little restaurant with amazing service. Many thanks to Colleen and her 2 longer-term guests for making us feel welcomed.
The owner was very friendly and reached out to let us know about the construction going on. She was very pleasant with details. It was a very hot day which she turned on the portable air conditioner when we came. However, it was hot and not enough time to cool the place down. The night was very uncomfortable and the room is in an attic. Beautiful room with enough essentials. . However, it could of used a fresh vacuum, and the trash emptied. A used towel was hanging over the shower bar which questioned me if the room was even cleaned. Overall good room but could of used a fresh cleaning.
Collene was a perfect host she went out of way accommodate our needs. She was very helpful in finding restaurants and local sights to see. Enjoyed our time there.
