Amazing period style hotel, clean, huge balcony, hot strong showers and walking distance to everything. Raved about it to friends on our return.

Room Temperature too Hot

It’s central heating for all the rooms so you can’t adjust the temperature. We baked in our room and had to sleep with the window open on a 3C night with a baby in the room. When we asked it if the could turn in down, they said it would impact other guests. My guess is our room would have been at around 28C. We woke up dry and dehydrated..... The hotel and staff are nice, just a drawback to staying at an older establishment.

Quaint, cosy and classic.

The Healesville Grand Hotel is wonderful for an overnight stay. Our check in was incredibly fast and easy. Our stay was comfortable, warm and simplistic. Our room was cosy and had a small country town charm. The bed was very comfortable and the little wardrobe was thoughtful. The bathrooms were very close by and were well kept and clean. The shower does probably need a new head and yes the plumbing is admittedly a little rusty due to the age of the Hotel. However, all manageable and understandable. This Hotel offers a relaxing getaway at a good price, especially when you're trying to escape the city and all of the overpriced rooms that come with it! If you're looking for a quick and toasty escape for a night or two and don't mind sharing the bathroom, this is the perfect place for you. Oh and having the heart of Healesville on your door step with all of the towns sights in walking distance was just perfect! We will be back!

This is an elegant Hotel and is very comfortable condiering it's age. The beds are very comfotable and the cleanliness of the rooms and the bathroom was to a high standard. We also ate on the premises and the meal and service was a good standard. Could not ask for a better location.

Good value, but not the Healesville Hotel

I usually stay at the grand old dame of Healesville, the Healesville Hotel, when I stay in Healesville, but saw the Grand had reopened and was very well priced so thought we'd give it a try. Don't get me wrong - it's well priced and there is nothing 'wrong' with it....but the reno just feels cheap and whilst it's trying to be The Healesville, it isn't quite there. It wouldn't take much to raise it's game - put proper locks on the communal bathroom doors, paint behind - not just around - the fixtures and fittings in-room, and clean inside the drawers and on top of the wardrobes (that's where we put our clothes and bags, and they were covered in dust when I took them out/off). The service was perfectly friendly and pleasant, it seemed a popular place for food and drinks downstairs, it just needs a bit of 'polish' to take it from feeling like a cheap renovation, to make it a real contender to the old dame down the road.

Beautiful old style hotel in central location.

Beautiful old style hotel in great location. I ate dinner in the dining room and thoroughly enjoyed my generous serving of lasagna which appeared from the kitchen quite quickly. I stayed on the second floor and unfortunately two out of three of the shared toilets/showers did not have a working lock. One of the showers only had cold water despite waiting 10 minutes for it to warm up although the other shower was hot with good water pressure. My single room was small but quite adequate with a TV. The room was a little bit cold with what felt like a slight draft coming from the window alcove. Overall I felt I received good value for money with this stay and I would stay at this hotel again.

This is a great place to stay if you are touring around the area just be prepared that they are shared bathrooms which are really pleasing and clean with good amenities. I did not realise this at the time so was not really prepared for it. The staff are exceptional and are great at making your stay comfortable and relaxed. Taxis in the area are hopeless both times they were ordered they did not turn up - the staff stepped in fantastic

A delightful haven when we were desperate

Long weekend everything booked so it was great when we could get into Healesville Grand Hotel. Staff very helpful when we couldn’t turn off the fan, transferred us to another room. Michael a good front-of-house.

120 year old hotel in Healesville

This hotel as on the website looked its age but freshly painted ..cheery curtains in the room ..comfortable bed. As expected a walk to the toilet and bathroom at end of the passage. A hook or 2 would have been useful to hang towel and toilet bag ..rather than left on the floor. No wardrobe in room..a rail was on back of bedroom door with coat hangers. A hook or 2 as well could be useful. We slept well.

Hotel has seen better days but well located.

Not particularly "customer-friendly". Began with a warning in the confirmation that if you arrived after 9pm you would not get in until the next morning(!!). Fortunately not an issue with me as arrived with nearly two hours to spare, but the receptionist was not particularly helpful at check-in and quite cold. The hotel seemed a bit run down and seemed quite empty, but at least it was a bed for the night.

people were very friendly, disappointed in the shared bathrooms, they were not so clean and one shower needed maintenance. we booked in for dinner that was disappointing as ordered our entree and straight after came our main meals, which we told them to give us a least 1/2 an hour in between but the room was lovely .

If your 20 and a backpacker

Couldn’t believe a old hotel with no adaptions to consider noise control allows a band to play from 9-midnight!! Our room had a door that opened to the balcony. This door had gaps so you could hear everything people were saying, there was a table outside the door. When they locked up for the night the main doors where slammed shut, you could feel it through the walls.

Great Hotel - Central to the township

Had booked for one night in single room, but due to circumstances the day before arrival I needed to book an additional night. Fortunately a cancellation had come in and the Staff and owners were very accommodating putting me in a queen room for both nights which was an upgrade from the single room I had booked for one night. I paid only the upgrade price for one night ( a benefit to us both as I didn't have to move rooms next day and they didn't need to clean that room after one night stay). Staff were extremely friendly - rooms were clean and tidy - shared facilities (bathrooms / toilets) were well catered for. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
