Just the job

Great country pub with good restaurant. Very quaint bar just the job for a nightcap before bed. Rooms are a goood size with all amenities. Would stay here again

In a quiet rural village, this traditional pub has a fabulous garden wih a covered area. The rooms are seperate from the pub and our ground floor room had a little private garden. I would recommend for a country retreat.

Enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and in a nice location close enough to town but not actually IN town. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was really good. The only downside was the shower which was very weak.

Great pub, from staff to rooms to food

Lovely pub, staff are very personable, friendly and go out of their way to help accommodate. Bed was very comfortable clean white towels supplied, room was spacious and everything you needed in there. tea and coffee facilities in room plus bottled water (nice touch) our stay was peaceful and quiet, just what we needed after a long journey. Food menu has good selection and food itself was lovely. Saw lots of other dishes come out during our stay and look forward to our return to try something different.

Very happy

We really enjoyed our stay at the White Horse. The staff were so helpful and the full English breakfast kept us going all day! I loved our room with the french windows opening on to a little lawn.

Hard to evaluate this as a hotel. Room we had no2 was very much like staying at your Grandma’s if you are a big fan of all things new and shiny and if you don’t like spiders this one is definitely not for you. If you don’t mind a homely room with a few faults adjacent to a brilliant and very welcoming little pub then it’s a great little find. Staff wonderful, great food and drinks all at very reasonable prices.

I couldn’t have wished for anything better! A spontaneous stay while I attended a course at the Curwen Print Study Centre near by (which is also excellent). The room was large yet super cosy, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Lots of soft cushions, blankets and fluffy rugs. Everything was clean and tidy, and warm which was very much appreciated. The pub was so welcoming - staff and punters! And the food was home cooked, plentiful and very tasty. Definitely recommend the food 😀

Lovely property in a beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff. Grwat room , clean and well equipped, comfy bed and great shower. Only down side was it was very hot and as we were on the ground floor right by the gatden we didn't feel safe keaving leaving windows open and on the friday night despite the sign saying it was open till 11 they shut the pub at 10.30 , there were a few of us staying arriving back then hoping for a night cap in the cool gardens but were disappointed

Friendly staff

Staff very helpful polite and flexible. Room was comfortable but a little tired and several cobwebs. Nice little garden but would benefit from some attention. Having said this would stay again as lovely location, views and friendly staff.

This is a lovely small very old pub with separate adjacent accommodation. We had a 1st floor room which was a good size, with a standard size double bed, beautiful views over fields of wheat. We had a lovely meal in the pub and the staff were very helpful and friendly, there is a large beer garden and separate small restaurant. It’s in open countryside so not close to other facilities however we were looking for somewhere quiet so this suited us perfectly, a bonus is that the checkout time is 11am, so no need to get up early. Tea/coffee provided, plus shampoo & hair dryer.
