Vacations Close To Harpers Ferry National Historical Park

We love the room as the city lights were beautiful to look at as we relaxed. No complaints, the breakfast was big and delicious. Love that hotel was close to the Metro and we were able to take the train to go sightseeing. Checking in and checking out was easy.

We were in our room basically to sleep and get ready. The night before we left, I went to back up our belongings. When I picked up my backpack, it was drenched! Because it was empty, this didn’t make sense. Upon investigation, I noticed that the walls were damp, and water was seeping through the tiled floor. There is obviously a bad leak somewhere. I contacted the front desk. While they freed us a different room, this really wasn’t an option as we were leaving the following day & needed to finish packing. I did place a dry towel on the ground, and the following morning, it was wet. I did take pictures. When I checked out, the receptionist wasn’t incredibly helpful other than having me email the pictures to their reservation desk. She said someone would contact me, which they haven’t. Due to the issues of mold, and my backpack getting soaking wet, I would like some sort of compensation. We will see what happens. I’ve stayed at this hotel before, and I really like its location- but when something major like this happens, more attentiveness needs to occur.

The layout, cleanliness, and decor of the room was excellent. Access pillows were a little bit hard and lumpy. The one negative would be that the parking is $40 a night, so we chose a nearby parking garage for eight dollars a night which was about a five minute walk. Coming from the parking garage, the access to the lobby was poor. The breakfast was good with eggs, oatmeal, and some fresh fruit.

Excellent! Would stay here again.
