“The hotel was further from Lyndhurst than I expected and although that wasn't an issue, it was further than I anticipated. This for us was the only downside to the stay. The room was cosy and comfortable and somewhat quirky. We loved its uniqueness. The hotel restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed our dinner there on our overnight stay. We would definitely stay again as it was convenient for a stop over before embarking on a cruise the following day from Southampton.”

“FANTASTIC HOTEL. The location, the service, the bar and restaurant were all truly 5 star. Woke up this morning after truly good sleep in massive room overlooking the priory and ruins. The reception staff was simply wonderful, just little things like letting us have a coffee and a croissant when we came in to drop suitcases off before check in time. Little drink tokens on the house, to be enjoyed in a truly gorgeous bar & restaurant. We loved everything and will be back 😊”

“Our stay was for 3 nights in a comfy double room. This type of room was up 3 flight of stays (No Lift) so not suitable if stairs an issue with cases. Room was clean and bathroom was modern with a powerful shower. Found bed not that comfy, but would stay again and try a different room. Full Breakfast was lovely and can be altered to suit. Evening menu could have more choice and not very generous for the price. Menu would be better if changes can be made and not so much fish on menu. All staff...

“Lovely pub/restaurant with rooms in a picturesque small village. We had a great dinner and the service throughout our stay was fantastic (thank you Matthew). I wasn’t aware this was part of a chain at the time of booking but I shall be looking out for Butcombe Pubs in future.”

“What you’d expect from a Village hotel. Clean, convenient and busy. Food offerings were basic and fairly pricey, bar was busy and with plenty of sports shown on the array of TVs. Hotel is conveniently located between Bournemouth and Christchurch and has good capacity. Regrettably they have no secure bike storage and don’t permit them to be taken to rooms.”

“Excellent hotel, lovely staff. Would recommend eating in the restaurants. Continental breakfast included, good varied choice. Beautiful view from restaurant. Just need to update the lighting and switches in the bedrooms as quite dark and switches were old momentary type.”
