“Clean room, extremely comfy beds!”

“Room smelt of dogs, upon enquiring i was informed previous occupant had dog. External of property very run down and in need of refurbishment ie windows rotten, walls cracked, gutters blocked, in need of repaint etc. Internal was not maintained windows of course as external (rotten) several would not open others would not close, imitation roof beams in breakfast room where just pine screwed to ceiling obviously because the screw holes hadnt been filled also gap between ceiling and beams, what a...

“Stayed here a number of times. It's perfect for a quiet retreat with no distractions such as TV or phones. Owner tim is always on hand polite and helpful. Highly recommend the place.”

“Fantastic location room and staff”

“Check in was easy and efficient. The room was all that could be expected, plus a few extras. A jar of a variety shortbread biscuits was a surprise along with an extremely varied options for hot drinks, i.e. Horlicks. A bowl of fruit was also an unexpected delight. The bathroom was well appointed, with shampoo, soap etc in pump pots. The bed itself was supremely comfortable with more than sufficient coverings. A large fan completed the array of convenience items, really handy with recent weather...

“We had a lovely stay at the Oaks. The staff were all very helpful, and the food was delicious in the bar in the evening, and the breakfast was also great! The car park was always busy, but we were always able to find a space.”

“Staff were amazing,extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Food was good, Great breakfast and good choice in restaurant if you are eating there in the evening. Only slight problem was poor phone signal and hotel WiFi only worked in the car park.”

El restaurante sirve comida de calidad y las raciones son enormes. Nos atendieron estupendamente. La zona es preciosa. Esta vez nuestra estancia tuvo que ser corta pero esperamos volver para disfrutar más tiempo del lugar. ”

“Room was great with a comfortable bed. No air-conditioning so hot in the night. A fan was provided. Great shower. Breakfast buffet was basic and had to ask for restock as staff not on top of it. Full English breakfast looked OK. This is a pub as well with a predictable menu if you have visited any in the chain. OK for some but not for us. Would stay again just for the room and location. Parking on street or in nearby car park.”

“Beautiful setting, nice hotel and amenities etc. Was disappointed with the soundproofing of the room as I could hear the people in room 9 snoring all Friday night ( I had little if any sleep) and I am registered partially deaf in both ears. I did comment to the receptionist in the morning and was told the rooms in the main house were better soundproofing as regards to maybe staying again in the future.”
