So confused who could have given this hotel the good reviews. Was definitely my least favourite stay on my 2 month southeast asia trip. Firstly I walk in and the room had ants crawling all over, the safe and minibar both didn’t work (which is quite important when you’re somewhere so hot and can’t even keep cold water in your room).
The hotel is at the end of this awful sketchy alley, which smells so bad. You’ll be leaving the hotel at 8 am for a tour and people are chopping raw chicken on the floor and you have to jump over them. If you’d like to come back any time after midnight, you have to wake up this guy who sleeps on the lobby floor, which you feel so bad to do… so weird they cannot give you a key like any other hotel i’ve been to. Also they lock the whole alley, so you have to call him outside the alley and wait for him to come there? Does not feel safe at all, as a solo traveler what would i do if my phone was stolen/dead, or if i was followed home or just needed to get in urgently late at night?
Also cause of this weird alley thing, you cannot wait for any of your tours or cabs at the lobby, you have to walk to the street with your stuff and wait in the middle of the road.
