Great location where you can walk to downtown Houghton and Hancock easily. Multiple bars and restaurants less than a mile away. Clean, comfortable rooms with great beds and great kitchen set up. Great views in the rooms that open to the deck. The available services including laundry, gym and sauna are great.

Great Stay w/ a view

Our stay at the Lodge was fantastic. Staff was friendly available if needed, the place was well stocked with everything we needed for 3 days.The sauna was awesome too as it was cold when we were there.

What an amazing place to stay! Spent 2 night for snowmobiling in the area. Excellent view and easy access to the trail. We will definitely be back and choosing a different suite to see what the others are like. We stayed in the Ruth suite and it was excellent for the 2 of us

Very clean and modern on the inside. Great set up for preparing meals and cooking. Clean new looking bathroom. Large common area to hang out with board games and fireplace etc. Would definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

we stayed in the eastwood suite, it was wonderful, it is street side so if you are a light sleeper, you can hear cars sometimes when theyre reving, but we had NO problems sleeping with the adjustable bed, it was so comfortable and nice to sit and watch tv with. spacious!!! could do cartwheels! kitchen was fully equipped, useable and if i really had to complain, my only ask would throw in some salt and pepper or a spice, but thats so dumb to complain about, all is super readily available with in the area. staff was beyond wonderful, making sure we were comfortable and always making sure if we needed anything, loved the simplicity of everything here. i really also enjoyed sitting outside, they have outside activities like baggo/corn-hole , large dice ect with such a beautiful view of the bridge, i have to stay, i dont think ill stay anywhere else in houghton/hancock besides this place in my future visits!

This is difficult because the staff and facility were excellent during our multi-night stay. We were in the Eastwood suite and it.was.so.loud. Street noise made sleeping very difficult, even with the complimentary white noise machine on the nightstand. And since the street/intersection was so close to the building, we had to keep the black-out shades open only about 8" from the top of the window or else truck drivers would be able to see into our space. Everything else was great, I just wish I had known how the building were situated. I don't know if staying in a suite that faced the parking lot would have been quieter, but perhaps I will ask next time.

The amenities and staff were excellent and very welcoming. The large gathering place with fireplace, t.v., games, snacks, refreshments to invite friends over is very unique. Extremely comfortable and clean suites with a great sauna and small workout area for the building to use. Only one very minor drawback for light sleepers is the road and snowmobile sound if you stay on road side of the building. Best property manager ever who was very helpful, kind and willing to share the history of the building and area. It felt like home away from home and I highly recommend it!

This was a unique property. It was previously the elk lodge, and has been completely redone and modernized. The finish out on each room is excellent and clearly well thought out. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought, time, and energy into to making this a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful and innovative but noisy

The room had lots of nice features, even an adjustable bed with massage. They have nice laundry appliances and provide dish and laundry soap. It would have been nice to have a step stool to reach the pots and pans. Using code entry for the doors was great. No worry about losing keys. There is no sign on the building and I had a terrible time finding the building to check in at night. It is a convenient location. The main thing to keep in mind is that one room ( Eastwood Suite)is right next to a highway. I mean RIGHT next to; just a sidewalk in between. They provided a white noise machine but if you are a light sleeper you will not sleep well.

This was the most comfortable place we have ever stayed. Our room was so spacious and the quality furnishings were great- from the kitchen appliances to the amazingly comfortable adjustable purple mattress bed and well- designed bathroom. The facilities and staff were so welcoming and made us feel at home. We had the opportunity to tour the lodge all the rooms available. Every room was unique, well designed and we would have happily stayed in any one of them. We especially enjoyed the public room which was the remodeled old Elks club bar where there was a nice fireplace, board games, tv, refreshments and plenty of seating to hang out. The history of the building as the old Elks club is really neat. We used the laundry room that was available and went home with all clean clothes- a nice bonus! The gym and sauna were nice, though we didn’t use them. The location is great and we were able to walk to many restaurants and shopping in both Hancock and Houghton within just a few minutes. It was great to walk across the bridge to the local brewery in Houghton and be able to walk back with no problems. Sitting outside on the deck and watching the boats and the bridge lift was so relaxing and there are small grills available if anyone wanted to barbecue out there. The parking lot is not currently paved but it was smooth and it wasn’t a problem. I understand the parking lot is going to be upgraded soon and will include more outdoor recreational space. We look forward to going back!
