Excellent location being only a couple of blocks from the main train station and transportation hub for Hamburg. The immediate area outside the hotel is a bit undesirable, although this is not the hotel's fault. Our room was very clean with a comfortable bed, the breakfast was nicely done with good variety and a large enough dining area. Good value!

Stayed here for a long weekend. Straightforward check in process. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Only thing that let the room down was no tea/coffee making facilities. Due to the hotels location there are quite a few street beggars around outside and it can be quite noisy but this didn’t affect our sleep or stay in the hotel. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice to eat and drink.

Excellent location and value for the price.

Excellent location for transport links but yes, quite a run down area. However, no different from eg London station areas and we felt completely safe. Reception helpful and cheerful. Room was quite large and clean. Breakfast good. Overall a very cheap hotel for a central Hamburg visit and we felt we easily got value for the price we paid.

They are renovating the place. Would be nice if they warned us beforehand about that. Now we were awoken by the sound of drills in the early morning. Because of the renovations breakfast was in another hotel at 5 minutes walk. Not cool when its raining. Rooms are very warm and no cooling options except for opening the windows, which brings the arrival of streetnoise. Mind you, that noise is always present. Location sounds good close to the station, but its also the place to be if you are homeless. Reception has a dayjob keeping them away from the doors. So no, no recommendation from us

Unsafe location

The cleanliness, rooms, service and breakfast of the hotel were really good. However, the location of the hotel is not safe at all, there is a lot of noise outside and you do not feel safe when you go outside. I don't think there are actions that the hotel can do in this regard.

Nice classic hotel

The hotel is operated by Novum who buys old properties in good locations, or what once were good locations in the past. Around the hotel heroin users are shooting up in broad daylight. If you don't mind about this, the hotel offers perfect location opposite to Hbf and shopping, for an excellent price-quality ratio. Very friendly staff, room was fresh and clean, lobby a bit dated, breakfast basic but fully sufficient.

The breakfast was bad. The location of the hotel is so bad . Surrounded by junkies. There was no warm food for the breakfast, no scrambled eggs no pancakes or waffles for kids. Damn I do not like it there at all

Very poor quality hotel

Hotel decor is old and tired. Breakfast is cereal and bread/ toast only, nothing cooked. Had to contend with groups of people in the street all night shouting and arguing. There is a casino beneath the hotel and a booth/shop right next to it that is a focal point for loiterers. I could hear the person in the next room unzipping their bag and later snoring. Overall: avoid

This hotel is a good hotel as far as cleanliness, good condition and very welcoming staff. No air conditioning so i would not recommend staying here in the summer. We stayed in October and had to open window but still warm in the room. Excellent breakfast and great service. Within 20 min walking distance of Alstadt, shopping and other landmarks. HOWEVER!! A high number of homeless itinerants hanging around just outside hotel and surrounding area 24 hours per day, noisy at all hours of the night and fights breaking out. Police there often. I usually leave in early morning without my husband to go out for a walk or to get get coffee when we travel but i felt very unsafe here and did not leave hotel without him.
