This was an interesting new type of hotel stay for us. My mother grew up in Altona in the 50s after the war. I hadn’t been to Hamburg in about 20 years so we decided to visit pre-Christmas for the markets (way too crowded and difficult public transportation during it). The room was well equipped with a refrigerator, induction cooktop, convection oven, deep well sink as well as cookware and utensils. It was relatively quiet and situated. Typical German hard mattress and too many smokers outside every door. I couldn’t live in a city like this, but an occasional visit should only take a few days off my life.

No daily cleaning and horrible check-in experience

The rooms was nice and clean, but the daily cleaning announced on Hotels.com didn't happen. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't get cleaning once. The check-in via WhatsApp took almost an hour. Something that normally takes 5-10 minutes in a hotel with a normal reception. You wouldn't expect this lack of service in a hotel in this price category.

Very nice hotel and clean rooms. Modern style, one of the best in this price range. First time shower is not leaking, warm floor in the bathroom, so always dry and warm. Great beds, kitchen, it simply have everything you need.

Everything was spotlessly clean and contact with email hotel manager was very quick regarding a few concerns that we came across.Everything was solved in quick and professional manner. Although, on the day of our check out, the cleaning crew started to knock to our doors from 7AM, and after that 3 more times and at 9AM they entered the room while we still were sleeping. I understand they they want to clean but check out it’s at 11AM. In the United States it’s just unacceptable to do that.

Make sure to contact the owner before you get there. Turns out they needed passport info before they can give passcode to get into the building, but I was traveling for a few days before with spotty internet, ended up sitting downstairs for almost an hour on the 1st day of my reservation going back and forth with management until they could verify everything and finally let me into the unit. Overall mostly my fault for not doing this in advance, but don’t make the same mistake I did. Make sure that 24 hours before you already have the code you need to get inside. Great unit as advertised though. Bus was a block away, very convenient.

Schönes Zimmer, Check in und die Kommunikation läuft gut, ABER wir wurden leider drei mal ab 09:15 Uhr mitten im Schlaf geweckt von der Putzkraft durch lautes klingeln. Beim zweiten Mal kam sie per Schlüssel sogar rein, woraufhin ich dann lauter gesagt habe JETZT NICHT. Leider war das in der Form kein Komfort, ansonsten schönes Zimmer in einer guten Lage.

Das kleine Studio war sehr ansprechend eingerichtet, super sauber und es war alles da, was man braucht. Geschirr, Kühlschrank und die anderen Küchengeräte waren sauber und gepflegt. Die Lage des Hotels war auch gut. Insgesamt ein wirklich guter Aufenthalt.
