The doublex suite with view on the Alster is luxurious. The split between bedroom bathroom on the first floor and desk sitting bathroom creates a two story glasfront giving a beautiful view over the Alster. Very friendly and competent staff!

Liked: spacious room with all you need and more; nice and well located hotel; good breakfast; really friendly personnel. Disliked: the elevators are badly programmed (all elevators respond together to the knobs...), 1 out of 3 was out of service and 1 had a door that would often not close; my mattress was a bit too worne so I had a bit of a backache; bar too expensive (5€ for a 20cl water or a cola for example; swimming pool too small for such a big hotel.

We enjoyed our stay overall. We were disappointed that the elevators on our floor were not working. We wish we had been told this when we arrived. While this was okay for us, I was saddened to see another guest with a walker on our floor. They should have been told and offered a room on a floor with a working elevator. I am surprised that staying there for three nights was broken the entire time.

This property was very nice. My only complaint is that I booked a room with a view of the river, but what I got was on the 2nd floor behind the entrance and only had an extremely obstructed view and could not see the river at all.

The hotel was quite expensive for what they offered. yes with the swimming pool/sauna/steam room it's a bonus. 3 pm check-in was missed because of a faulty aircon in the room by an hour. Compensation of free drinks in the bar but just because I have asked for it. One of the lifts was not working out of 3 lifts. Breakfast for me was ok only not outstanding cos I'm vegan. Heritage restaurant did not meet my expectations as the food was over an hour late and barely anything on my plate.

Our big family vacation 2024

We stayed there for four nights. It was a great location. The area around the hotel was nice. There was a lot of construction that made it a little bit difficult but overall was great. The service and the hotel was great. Everybody spoke perfect English. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The room was very comfortable Bed was very comfortable. The kids love the pool and overall I highly recommended if you’re in Hamburg to stay in the hotel, specially with family.

I was staying here 6 years ago and at that time the hotel was old and need to be renovated, so 6 years forward nothing have happen except it is still in badly need of renovation. However, location is great and the service is friendly and professional.

We’ve had an amazing stay at Le Méridien. We were welcomed by a professional yet very friendly frontdesk and given the keys to our room 3 hours before normal check-in. The room was spacious and had a beautiful view overlooking the Alster Lake. The breakfast buffet is so good - and so is the Heritage Restaurant for a night ‘in’. Located on the 9th floor, the view is even better. The entire staff has been very friendly to us and our 3 y/o. Kids being allowed in the pool (family-time 8am-6pm) was part of the reason we chose the hotel and it’s been the best stay. We’re definately staying there again if we’re coming back to Hamburg.
