The hotel is lovely- room was beautiful, well kept, spacious, and definitely a lovely place to stay! Easy access to the pub with great food below- for lunch and dinner. Only concern was the "openness" of the upstairs access to the hotel-- anyone is able to walk in the front door and held up the stairs with access to the rooms.
2nd time at this hotel. We stay here because of location to the kids camp. Also the staff are absolutely amazing 👏 we will definitely be back again. Thanks for another great visit to beautiful minden.
Boutique hotel!
Modern bathroom
Tastefully decorated and furnished
Pub downstairs, closed weekday at respectable hours for a quiet night of rest
Parking behind the building.
Enjoyable stay!
Place was very clean. A little noisy with no amenities.
But did the job.

The positive is the staff are friendly and it is a convenient downtown location. Rooms are quaint with spacious bathrooms and aircon. However, the rooms and bedding are outdated with a faint "stuffy" smell due to age. The entrance door had a large gap. Not very private. There is no breakfast available as the pub/restaurant below doesn't open until 11:30 a.m. (A half hour after check out) The T.V. is complicated to turn on. We couldn't get it to work despite the instructions. And there are no staff on site after 8pm to assist if you have any issues like this. The air conditioner is on the wall and preset at a temperature by the hotel. There was no converter to control the temperature and the aircon was pointed directly to my bed. I had to put on a hoodie as it was so cold on my head. If the converter for the air was in the room, I could have locked the air conditioning fan upwards so it wasn't blowing directly on me. Also overpriced for the age of the room.
More modern rooms than the online pictures depicted. Clean, simple and quaint.

very steep stairs leading to rooms. Property is showing signs of wear and tear. We received emails regarding questions of access and connection to after-hours staff after we left!!! The room was clean and well stocked but showed its age. there is a much better option 10 minutes up the road for almost half the price. There are no extra amenities to speak of . Basically, there are only 2 options within the village and thus, this one is overpriced. Stay in Haliburton or Bracebridge instead.
As part of my boyfriend’s 27th birthday this year, I took him to Minden for ice racing. The stay at Dominion Hotel was an absolute gem! We love local inn’s and Dominion checked all of the boxes off. Being it was so cold the weekend we went, the room was so cozy, so warm, and in such a cute part of downtown. We had a blast and even enjoyed a lowkey dinner at the pub below. We loved it and have already planned a summer trip back for fun!
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is clean and quaint. The room suits my young family of 4. My only small complaint was that the hot water in the shower ran out in the morning. Otherwise this spot is perfect.
Historic property with well kept rooms above a popular local restaurant. Located right in the heart of town within easy walking distance of shops and river. Check in is at the bar, and there may not be hotel staff after hours. Very clean and well located with ample parking.
This is a nice place to stay right in the centre of Minden. We arrived late and the pub was closed, but the instructions were clear and we found our way without any problem. Super clean and very comfy bed. No complaints whatsoever. We would stay there again.
When we checked in we were given our room and when we checked our room we had ordered two beds in a room and only received one bed for four people. Little problem I thought would contact them at the desk and I was told. Basically tough luck. We're out of rooms. That's what you ordered. That's what you get at that price
