Rakiura National Park on Stewart Island, New Zealand's third-largest island. Because there are few introduced predators, flightless endangered birds such as the kiwi and little penguin thrive.

Stewart Island is the New Zealand island south of the South Island. The only town, Oban has a small population, but the majority of the island is very seldom visited. Some parts are reachable by hiking trail while others like the bay in the south are only reachable by boat.
