lovely private onsen experience and enjoyed the half board meals especially the western breakfast. you also get your choice of yukata to wear which was a nice touch. i wished we would have stayed another night to enjoy the other onsen on property. close to the park and crafthouse. would recommend

Beautiful hotel well located. Hotel makes you feel welcomed, onsen options (public, private, and in room were all excellent, the dinner and breakfast service was quite the experience. It was easy to communicate with hotel and they offered menus and explanations with English as an option. Pillow options was a special touch

The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the family suite allowed us to stay together. However, the staff was not flexible about our advance request to exclude pork and pork derived ingredients from breakfast and dinner because we did not reply to their follow up email that we never received. Our original request was clear but no alternative was offered upon arrival. The spa massages were underwhelming, and the private onsen could accommodate only two people despite the suite being designed for approximately four guests. Given the cost of over $1,000 for one night, excluding the spa, we questioned the value.

Clean area and extremely friendly staff. They were able to store our luggage post-check out which was great to take advantage of Hakone sightseeing. Forewarning, this is very close to the train station but you have to go up hill to get there!

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous! Yukatas to borrow were provided along with a basket of towels for the onsens. In the lounge area there were a decent selection of drinks and snacks, however the ice cream section was only open during open onsen hours. The food experience (dinner especially) was exceptional! Overall, very good stay. Would recommend.

This is a luxurious resort. We were the only non-Japanese guests there I think, and we felt welcomed and absolutely blown away by the experience. Our room was like a suite with four beds and a separate bedroom, the amenities were fantastic. The staff were professional, friendly, and welcoming. The breakfast was enough to feed an army and we tried both the Japanese and Western versions. The Onsen was beautiful and relaxing. Note, this hotel is situated in a hilly area, about 20 minutes drive from the Yumoto train station. Loads of nearby sites including incredible museums, art galleries and restaurants. But if you want to come to sit in your room's private Onsen, you can do that too. You leave your shoes at the hotel front check-in, so walk barefoot or in socks throughout (note for foreigners) and it's lovely. Absolutely safe, clean, quiet, relaxing, luxurious. Highly recommend. And get the breakfast at least once (you might still be full for the next morning so once might be enough).

Absolutely amazing stay! Great hospitality/staff and the kaiseki dinner is just out of this world. We were hesitant at first because of the steep price but it is worth every penny. The room is very spacious with every amenity you can think of PLUS ensuite onsen. It is essentially a Japanese resort you can relax and truly enjoy the experience. Will definitely come back with family again!

Wish we could have stayed for another night. Staff was incredible, property is fantastic with excellent central location near Gora station. Walked from Suiun to The Hakone Open-Air Museum easily with the best Lawsons along the way. We did not make it to Hakone Gora Park but it was right next door, down the street was a Hakone Tozan Railway stop. Enjoyed a snack and drinks at Gora Brewery and Grill which was right by Suiun as well. The private room onsen was amazing, loved the option for private public onsen, as well as the public onsen. Dinner was incredible, unfortunately we were too full to enjoy breakfast. Amenities were amazing, this included the pillow library, snacks, drinks, ramen, etc. Loved the in room pour over coffee option to include DIY fresh ground beans. Hope to return to Suiun in the future!
